Learning to "literally" cope with change

Posted on Sep 13, 2007

Hello Beautiful People! I think I am getting the hang of this new message board system. The new procedure has made me appreciate the old boards, however, it has also made me embrace change. I must say, although I miss my comfort zone and familiarity of the former boards, I find this new one challenging ;). Also, my sisters and I weighed in Monday. The bet was to pay yourself the amount of pounds lost. I added 5-Whole dollars to my Piggy Bank!! :) My older sister added Four dollars to her piggy bank. And my little sister didn't gain or lose. So her piggy bank is currently empty. But we are working as a team to help her collect money in her jar, not dust ;) So to HarpoBear and the beautiful people who are able to navigate and find this message on the boards, I send a Bama hello your way!! Much Love and continuing to add money to the Piggy Bank as I send this post, Sherry D

Hey Sherry, glad you found us! I am confident that once you all figure out all the features, functions and neat dohickies that you will all come to embrace the change. These boards are more in line with what is out on the web. Have you see the 'Your Stuff' section yet? It's similar to the 'my favorites' of the past. Poke around, and explore... hope you like what you see. Congratulations on your continued successes. And don't forget yer double workout ;) -HarpoBear, Oprah.com Community Producer

HarpoBear, I have been doubling up. Hence the 5-lb loss. Although I am loving the energy and feeling younger than I actually am, my thighs are sore!! :_| I am trying my best to sit still as I respond to this post, but my derriere is sore also :_| No more whining ?:| . I am on my way out the door to the gym. Feeling like a hero ( a sore hero) but committed to lift these buns and achieve those Fab Abs!! ;) Sherry D B-)

Hi Sherry, It's not been easy for me to post! It takes about half a dozen attempts with every one. Usually, my reply page doesn't have a field for typing the text....everything else, but not that particular field? :( Check out the "I HAVE AN IDEA" discussion and let us know what you think about creating a daily thread.

Hey Pammy:

Consider it done!! ;) I have so many stories to tell and I can surely fill the void B-)

At first I was lost on the boards ?:|

But now, I am slowly seeing the light through the wilderness :p

I love the emoticons :x. It helps me to express myself so well and I feel as if I can conquer the world since I am "slowly" mastering this new board thing (+)

HarpoBear has been patient and even gave the Southern Belle a few pointers. So yes ma'am, I don't mind obliging and starting a new post ;)

Take care,

Sherry D ]:)

I am with some folks here with the changes. I do not see them as being all bad.

I happen to like change and while I haven't fully embraced all the new items here, I am determined to do so. I know there are more kinks to hammer out, but I'm up to the challenge.

Funny you should mention money in regard to working a program. I watched the O show and then the next day when I went to a part time job I have, I walked into the kitchen and a co-worker used their hand to ward away the chocolate as they passed the table. I said "Yeah, me too". They then said that they needed to be held accountable for their weight. I shared that I was just starting my program inspired by the O show. He then said "Okay, this is how it is..everytime we give into temptation we pay the other person $1.00, and if we think we need to have the item, we pay the other person $2.00.....then we did a pinky shake". So far it is a good and fun thing to do. He is a really good influence and we are in the same mental place....we really don't need the game at this point....we have the mind set....it just makes it fun!......Good Luck to All...
