JESSICA SEINFELD, AND HER DECEPTIVELY DELICIOUS COPYING THE SNEAKY CHEF, IS FAR WORSE THAN JAMES FREY FABRICATION

Dear Oprah,

We understand that this is a huge mess, imo, and it will take some thought on how to handle it. But, you have to do something. We are sure that it will be done correctly. But, ignoring it will not be acceptable.

You were irate that James Frey embellished HIS OWN story. No victims, really. Now you have an author/homemaker/ billionaire SOCIALITE who, it appears, stole her premise, methods and recipes from an actual chef. It sure looks like she stole Missy Chase Lapine's lifeswork. It is a terrible example for America, and there is a real victim. Lapine taught classes in these methods in NYC for a long time as THE SNEAKY CHEF, and wrote a book, THE SNEAKY CHEF. (note: recipes were slightly tweaked)

Everyone is wondering if being rich and well connected, like Jessica Seinfeld, because she is married to Jerry Seinfeld, gives you a free pass with Oprah. Everyone is wondering if there was a deal to have her on, and then you could book him for an interview -- was a deal made?
THERE MUST BE AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE PROBLEM FOLLOWED BY A OPEN INVESTIGATION. Find out the truth. (Maybe there is a reasonable explanation, but, imo, I sure doubt it. I would like to hear what it may be, though...)

I can't believe the nerve of Jessica Seinfeld -- tricking you and Dr. Oz! Perhaps Jessica Seinfeld is Deliciously Deceptive, herself. Is her ego so big that she thinks it is ok to steal from the little people -- because she is a billionaire socialite, and therefore has the right to trample upon people in her way? Maybe since most people, (including her publishers and pr folks ) ARE her lapdogs, she has a skewed view of morality ... Did she think no one would see the other book or know about the Lapine's NYC classes in hiding puree in kid's food!

No wonder Jessica Seinfeld had such a funny smile on her face, like she was getting away with murder, when you praised her as a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You won't see that happen. Just look at who is appearing on her show tomorrow to plug his new movie. Jerry Seinfeld and the cast of the Bee Movie. I have to wonder if Jerry Seinfeld didn't agree to be on O's show as long as his wife also got a segment on a show to plug her book. The shows were probably taped on the same day Besides, woman have been pureeing and hiding vegies in their meals for years. My mom did it when I was a kidy...I still do it today with my husband even though my son is grown. You'd also have a hard time proving she just tweaked the recipes from The Sneaky Chef. Recipes are hard to prove that someone has stolen. For instance, I thought Art Smith's recipe for the pitaschio chicken was a lot like a South Beach diet recipe for pitaschio crusted turkey cutlets.

I'm gonna Google a bit and see if what you have said is true. If this is the case, it IS an outrage that viewers are lead to believe something and purchase this book giving millions of dollars to someone we 'thought' created something for all our families.

I've boughten the book and will take it back to Target depending on the outcome of my Googling.

Moms have been sneaking vegetables into their kids food for ages - this is nothing new. Few ideas ever are, actually. DD is a useful book with good information and ideas. If you don't see value in it, don't buy it. It you prefer TSC, buy that one. There is room in my kitchen for both. Neither of these women invented the wheel - they just worked out some clever ways to make it roll more smoothly. If they can each provide me with a couple of ideas for getting more nutrition into my children, they've BOTH earned the $15 or so the books cost online!

Furthermore: I'm 65 years old and LOVE this concept! I've hated most vegies my whole life, and this way of getting them into my body is fantastic! I've already tried some of them and give this idea a 10+. Thank you Jessica for bringing it out to the fore.

Some of those posts who ignore the fact that the Seinfeld book was stolen from a real chef, and praise the stolen book like crazy, sound like false posts --- made by an army of well-paid publicists. I can picture a group of publicists in their cubicles posting the fake praise. They must be salivating at the Seinfeld billions!! Therefore, morals go out the window.

If you worked at a publication or tv show you would be shocked to see the lies that come from these pr people!
I picture them as the same folks who tricked Oprah!

I'm NOT ignoring.. I looked up the Sneaky Chef and will get her book too! And that's the point! I can't imagine a world where only one person was allowed to write about a subject! Unfortunately for The Sneaky Chef, her book wasn't publicized the way Jessica's was. I really like Jessica's book, and really like the recipes I've seen of the Sneaky Chef. A good thing for the Sneaky Chef though, is that you are all helping to publicize it! I for one was never aware of it. Wish I knew about it years ago. In any case.... fact remains... more than one person can write about a subject! And the recipes that I've looked at aren't exactly the same - so much the better for me!! (and therefore it's NOT stealing)

Haven't you ever taken a recipe out of a book, or whatever, changed it to suit YOU and YOUR family, and served it the new way? Same thing.

There's nothing here to get upset about.
