My neighbor said the same thing, yet I disagree. I think Echhart is an excellent author, yet I think at the same time Oprah is explaining the book in an easier manner, for all of us to understand. One has the ability to write where the other has the ability to chat.
Tengrain, Without Oprah there would be no such class. It took a lot of time, people and money to bring this to everyone for FREE. It's a gift. Why can't you just accept it? She isn't asking for anything in return. As for her school....it's her money to do what she pleases. Does anyone tell you how to spend yours?
I saw this comment from the first show and I couldn't believe it. Here Oprah puts together this fun event on an important topic with a well liked E. Tolle and someone puts her down. This is a prime example of EGO !!!
I don't see this at all, Oprah does not seem to be into herself and her story at all. Listen more carefully and you might find that Oprah is doing just the opposite. Her experience allows her to present the information in a way that assists others anywhere along the way of awakening.
I agree with you.
Okay, here's my impressions.
O has all these years of hosting a talk show; that involves so much more than listening. There are limits to the time to be spent, either in this webcast format or the TV talkshow hour format, and Oprah is doing her best within the confines of those limitations.
She has her ideas of where we need to go in the course of a single session, she has her points that she feels need to be covered, and a certain time allotted to cover everything. Her "job" is to keep E on track, and on point and on time.
She does this with remarkable attention to what's going on, moment to moment. Someone has to "direct" the discussion, or the discussion may get a little "lost (?)" or rambling.
They work well together, because they each respect the other's role, and the other's Soul.
That's just MHO.

Maybe everyone that says she is talking too much or interuppting should try to answer the questions on p. 74 again - what you resent in others is in yourself....so maybe put the EGO aside and try listening a bit more and not commenting so much. I want to hear more from Tolle too - but he is very soft-spoken and sometimes difficult to understand. Oprah has interviewed him a couple of times and may be more more tuned into what he is trying to say than the rest of us - so she is bringing it to us in a format we can understand.
As for the time - she is on TV and the radio is is fully aware of the time constraints involved and trying to get the point across and cover a huge amount of material in a short amount of time. Think Oprah after the show.....in this format there is no "after the show" - these 90 minutes are it; we could easily spend 90 on any of the sub-topics in any chapter! She is trying to get a lot of stuff into those 90 minutes....
Ego aside - just listen. Tonight - don't even watch the screen, minimize it and just listen to the class....

Hello,
I just wanted to add that I feel Oprah compliments Eckhart extremely well. I too have had some trouble understanding the way Eckhart is explaining things, however I have found myself saying "oh that is it" when Oprah chimes in and paraphrases. There was a great example in the 1st class with the woman who skyp'ed in from Germany. Eckhart explained her question, but when Oprah used another explanation, the caller seemed to "click" with her explanation, as did I. THANK YOU OPRAH AND ECKHART!
You are obviously not ready.
