AntiChrist here

Posted on Mar 14, 2008

No one ever learned to ride a bicycle by reading a book or discussing bicycle-riding.

(Sorry, I have never posted anything to a board before and am curious as to why so few opened my previous messages. I thought I'd try a more provocative header to see if that holds the key...) -- John

I have the most amazing story! My 10 year old daugter and I were on the way home from the movies last night and I was just singing along to my John Mayer CD, and the song "Stop this Train" was on, and I don't know if she was or wasn't listening to the words or if that had anything to do with her "Moment" (the song is about "time" ) and I pulled into the driveway to let her out before I pulled into the garage and I turned around and she was crying, and I said "What's wrong honey?" and she said "I'm just happy Mommy" and I said, "What about?" and she said "I was so Present Mommy" (no she's never used that word before, I don't know if it's because she has heard ET's tapes or if it was just the result of the experience itself that she said that) and I said "wow, what did it feel like?" and she paused for a moment and said "Love, Mommy, it felt like sooooo much Love" and then we just looked at each other for a moment with tears in both our eyes and then she said "I'll probably never feel that again" and I looked at her and I said "of course you will honey, that is who you Really are". And then we went upstairs and put in the John Mayer CD and layed in my bed holding each other and singing the songs on the cd (very spiritual cd by the way, Continuum by John Mayer). Anyway, I cant really describe it, but that moment that she had, that Presence, That is what all of this is about. How anyone can think this is other than pure joy, I can't imagine. I just had to share this experience with you

Amazing story!
Amazing mom!
Amazing daughter!
Amazing moment!

I hope this will inspire those who have wondered how to pass this along to children. You have shown a way.

Thank you.

Anti anything won't get you anywhere... Though you might get some attention...mine. As for riding a bicycle, it is useful for a beginer to have training wheels. And books can resonate the knowledge already within.

So maybe the header does hold the key... and getting out of my head might hold another...

donna12283,

Wow! Great experience. Children no doubt have less baggage...not as many filters to obscure their vision. They truly are first into the kingdom of god...or closer to the now. Use whatever semantics you like.

Hi Donna,

That is a great event in your life and in your daughter's life. Kids are great teachers if adults are open to what they have to teach. One reason they are great teachers is that they have not yet built up the rigid beliefs yet. ("It is as a child that you shall enter the kingdom of heaven!") I know it will happen again for both of you. That was just a prelude!!

Thanks.

No no one learned to ride a bicycle from reading a book.. They had to ride, fall and keep trying until they found balance then they found freedom!

In reading this book there is possibility, in practice freedom and joy unimaginable..
The freedom is your choice..

Exactly, the reading, the discussion only leads up to the learning of riding a bike. In the end, you just have to get on the bike and do it. The same with consciousness. Language only goes so far, then it must be transcended by silence.

I feel kind of bad about that, but no one was opening my previous posts and I wanted to see if it was because my subject line was too prosaic. I guess the answer is "yes." (Which is understandable, of course. So more effort needs to go into the subject line...) -Skead1-

Donna,

Thanks so much for sharing that exquisite story. Certainly it was a milestone for your daughter (and you!) who will no doubt never forget that awesome moment. I work with a lot of 2nd and 3rd graders and sometimes I can just see Spirit in their bright little eyes.
