I went through what felt like a death and rebirth multiple times when I was going through a profound midlife awakening. This was on all levels, physical, emotional, and spiritual. It was a dark night of the soul journey. I was in horrific pain, started having seizures, and many other things. I unplugged from society for five years and immersed myself in nature and healed completely. I work with midlife women now helping them through this sacred and often scary passage. I am seeing a lot of this kind of deep psycho/spiritual transformation taking place. Women are experiencing being taken apart so that they can be put together in a new way. I personally believe that it is because we are coming into a time where wise women will be helping the earth come into this new age of consciousness. I help women see that no they are not going crazy, they are experiencing a powerful and profound transformation in consciousness. So....I wondered if there are any women out there who are using the book to help them in the evolutions of their consciousness? What insights have you had? How have you related to what ET says about ego and what is happening to you? What do you need? What are your emotional and spiritual symptoms? Thanks ~ Dinah

Hi, Dinah.. yes, I have also only recently done the whitewater of midlife transition. For a couple years I was in hell - physical and other. Dr. C. Northrop's book, The Wisdom of Menopause, and Marianne Willamson's A Return to Love on A Course in Miracles began to help me understand that as you say, I was being taken apart so as to be able to come back together in a much wiser, better, healthier way. I'm just breaking through now. I also took myself out of the busy mainstream, and kept much to myself. Dr. Northrop said it is normal and good to do that. A time of inner work. Nice to hear from a sister on the Journey. I'm loving Oprah's cheerful, energetic handling of this topic of spirit renewal. This is really wonderful! Karen

Hello Dinah!

I just turned 50 and yes I am using this book for spiritual renewal. I'm doing my best to understand what all this is about and by God I think I'm getting there. I really do believe that underneath all this "wrapping" is the most prcious gift of all ! I am just beginning to "smell it, feel it, hear it, and understand it" .....breath by breath.....

Good luck Dinah and our journey be a good one......Marlyn

Thank you dinah! This midlife transition is indeed a scary time at least for me. The physical effects I was coping with...until the weight gain that is. Ahhhhh! I have always been under-weight....not anymore!! On a shallow level it sure does a number on the ole EGO, not having that slim shape that would get the looks from men. I was miserable for a short time, then started back into spiritual teachings (ACIM & a little Buddhism) and then I heard about The Power of Now, started reading and listening to its companion CD, then....Oprah announced The New Earth...I believe we are on to something here ladies!! This is powerful stuff. It is reinforcing what my bodily changes have been trying to tell me.....its about the INSIDE not the outside. Duh! A few years back I found Dr. Northrup, thought her information was fabulous...but I was not ready to take advantage of her wonderful teachings....I was in denial back then. Not anymore, I have wasted enough time. I too have kinda withdrawn from being social, my man worries about me. Guess I should clue him in.
