AN OPEN LETTER TO OPRAH WINFREY

Posted on Mar 2, 2008 1:54 PM

Dearest Oprah,

My intuition told me that you’d be reading these posts today as you prepare for the momentous occasion of tomorrow’s launch of the New Earth Class.

I know you will remember me. I was on your show about 9 years ago when you began your Change Your Life series. My practice is being a Spiritual Life coach and author. My name Vicki Spina but my friends call me Faith.

I was the one who set my intentions and wrote in my journal that I would be on your show before you went off the air. (At that time you were contemplating whether to continue or not, and thank GOD you did!). We talked about setting intentions and universal law of attraction.

What you may not have known is that I never sent you a press release or contacted your show in any way. All I did was write in my journal that I Will be on your show. 3 months later your producer Kandi contacted me to be on. I asked how she had heard about me and she didn’t know; a very clear sign to me that the Universe was supporting me.

I used to live in Chicago for the majority of my life and it’s no mistake that you are based there, as it truly is the “Heartland” of the nation-and you are at the center of it!

My reason for writing today is for several reasons. First and foremost to say thank you. Thank you for being YOU. Thank you for having the courage to follow your purpose. I know that back when you began the change your life TV, critics jumped all over you and accused you of preaching. The fact that you’ve been through all that and have not let it get in your way is such an inspiration to all of us!

I just want you to know that should the critiscm get thick again…(and from the sound of some of these posts on other discussions-it already has) that for every one of those people who are naysayers..their are many more that support you with love and respect. Our voices may not always be heard over the blazing negativity..but when you go into your heart..in that moment of stillness you will hear the angels singing your praise and our thanks.

You have given so much to so many over the years…my way of giving back to you is to offer you my loving support and prayers. For you are my sister in Jesus and I know he is smiling on you. So many Christians are so very afraid of this message and will say you aren’t a true Christian…but I know your love of Christ…it is in every thing you say and do.

So if you ever have a flicker of doubt about this course or the ruckus…(like OMG what have I started here??) I would love for you to remember the ones who are silently in the wings are sending you love and energy (the frequency holders). As Emily Dickenson so beautifully wrote, “If I have saved one life from pain, then I have not lived in vain”. And you, my friend…have saved many of us from so much pain!

In closing, I would like to ask a small request of you…I sent Maya Angelou a handmade Goddess doll several years ago. I read her book “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” when I was 11 years old and I totally related to her then and she changed my life. I sent her the doll anonymously, as I didn’t want any recognition for it..just wanted it to be an unconditional gift of love for her…but I’ve often wondered if she indeed received it. The only address I had for her was in c/o of the University she was teaching at. I know you talk with her often and if she did get it if someone could email me and let me know, I’d really appreciate it. My email is faith88@charter.net.

Blessings to you and Eckhart as well all embark on this special journey together...

With love and light,

Vicki (aka Faith)

My pleasure Sarahmom, it's just a small step but if enough of us say a prayer of thanks for her work, she can hold the energy with Eckhart for a truly amazing series..

Thank you for your beautiful, heart-felt letter, Faith. I am just floored by all that Oprah does and gives. And inspired and encouraged. Wow, and there really has never been anything like this on the internet before. Not on this scale. So far it all seems very well thought out and planned.

I too Faith would like to thank you for your letter to Oprah. Your words are beautiful and are also how I feel. Hallelujah, thank the Lord that he chose Oprah for a special reason and a purpose. She has so much but is one of the few very wealthy who really seem to care for others and gives so much back. She just seems so beautiful inside and out although I have not had the pleasure of meeting her as you have. I've been off work due to surgery therefore was able to watch her show and hear about A New Earth and the upcoming web event. I went out for the first time after surgery to buy this book on Friday, 2/29. I am so glad I did. My two boys are grown, my youngest still at home is 22 but out doing his thing most of the time. I'm feeling useless and lost because my role of Mom as I've known it is pretty much over. My life has been all about them. Anyway, instead of boring anyone with all about me stuff I just want to say that I have read almost half of the book so far and am actually feeling better all ready. I've been feeling depressed for a few years now and have been dwelling on the negative voices in my head. I didn't know I could get past them. I love Jesus and have turned to him for comfort but still have felt discontent. I really, really feel this is going to help me. My life's goals (which I said in a speech in my little town's beauty pageant when I was 16, long ago) have been to become a nurse (which I did not finish), become a missionary, and adopt a child. So far I have not completed any of these and don't know how to accomplish them. I think Eckhart Tolle has helped me understand things that I read in the Bible that Jesus was trying to tell us but I just wasn't getting. This book is the first spirituality type book I have read. I thank Eckhart Tolle for his wisdom and Oprah for making it known and available to us and caring enough to want to help us understand through the web classes that are about to begin. I really have never in my whole life felt like I know what being happy is. I now have great hope that Eckhart Tolle, his book, Oprah and Jesus will help me find my way. Thanks again Faith, -Cheryl

I remember I first watch Oprah at the age of 14. Eventually, my parents took off cable tv.

I remember reading she was debating on quiting or not. Young as I was I said an honest prayer for her to stay as she had much to give to the world. I was surprised to get reconnected with her show a couple of years back and see all she is doing now, I said "Wow, my prayer was answered". I hope she continues to do these in the long-run: Oprah as John Paul II said "If Jesus did not get off the cross, why would I?". I keep it in my heart as a dream of mine to some day sit down with her and have a real serious conversation.

We chose to disconnect our cable a couple years ago. And so, I do not watch the Oprah show. Yet, I have viewed her 20 year anniversary DVD's and have kept abreast of all that Oprah is contributing to our world, through her love and commitment to serving humanity through the expansion of consciousness among all people on our planet. I read Eckhart's book over a year ago and sent it to four people in my life at that time. And yet, this is not new information for me. Yet, like Oprah, I found this book to incorporate all that I embrace as truth and presented in a way that everyone can receive. And I also fully acknowledge that it takes an open heart and a willingness to stretch and to go beyond what is familiar in order to embrace these truths. I read some of the comments today, both those that support this new earth vision, as well as those who are struggling with this new approach to viewing who we are as empowered beings and eliminating, for instance, belief in victim consciousness. And I feel great compassion for those who are in resistance, knowing that this is simply part of the process and that it takes great courage to make changes from within one's belief system. And I fully trust that Oprah in her wisdom in sharing this book, is also well aware that this book will initially evoke from some what may seem on the outside to be a negative response. And it is all perfect! There will be those who are simply not ready to embrace these truths. But, thanks to Oprah, there will be that many more who will have the great opportunity to experience what Eckhart has to share and in a way that supports whatever concerns and questions that may come up. And those who are ready to shift their perception and who have been calling this in, will experience a gifts in their awareness of who they are that will astound them. This is a great moment in time on our planet, when so much around us seems to be falling by the wayside and where there appears to be great chaos. And again, the response to this book is a clear indication that people are thirsting for a greater understanding and a new way to view themselves and our world. This is also a time of great miracles. And I believe that this book and the response to it, is a miracle and a gift from our Creator. As a race we are coming to a critical juncture. And we are being asked to choose what we wish to believe. It is time to take our power back and to create a world where we relate to one another, globally, with love and acceptance, compassion and understanding and to know in our hearts that we are truly one with all of life. Love and blessings to everyone who is participating in this workshop. There is a new day dawning and a new earth coming into view. And we are the co-creators, as we change within ourselves that which no longer serves us, and as we come together in love and holding a vision of oneness on our beloved planet. Bless you Oprah and bless you Eckhart!

I too, do not get to watch the Oprah Show where I live. So, I keep in touch with what Oprah's doing via O Magazine and Oprah.com. I read a lot of books and magazines and each month when I read O, I am truly inspired.

Living overseas, in the Middle East, I tend to be bombarded with news regarding the wars, the injustices, the heartaches that people suffer throughout this Region, Africa and in Asia. This news is important as I feel somewhat informed about the plights of many, as opposed to what tends to fill up much of the news from the ‘west' which can be what all the Hollywood Stars are up to on a day-by-day, week-by-week basis. What I don't get to read about often enough though, are the many inspiring stories of what people are doing to make a difference in the world, to make lives better. (However, this unfortunately tends to be the way of media all around the world.)

To me, that's Oprah's greatest gift which is to lead, to inspire, to enlighten us with the possibility of what we can be. Also that Oprah is one with us, on the same journey to create a New Earth. To create this format as she has, leads me to believe that she too has questions. That understanding ego, spirit and purpose does not come easy.

"No day is promised", is what I think Oprah said at one time, so let's get on this journey together and let's start it today.

So, my gratitude to Oprah for this opportunity, to Eckhart for his book and to many of you for your words that inspire me, ask me to question what I believe and guide me to my purpose.

Your sentiments are echoed by so many of us Faith. Oprah has touched so many people's lives. She embodies so many of the great healers and teachers throughout history. She dare's to walk the extra mile, dare's to wear her heart on her sleeve and speaks from the heart in the way that they have. She's a child of God who dare's to allow her light to shine. Although I live in the U.K I know with every cell of my body I'll get to meet her one day. Thankyou for being YOU Oprah. Namaste x

Oprah, my beautiful girlfriend, dear Eckhart and to the many kindred spirits who are here in this moment: "We are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important we are." -Eckhart Tolle - My first AHA moment in The Power of Now I am humbled and blown away by each of you!! Love and peace to all.
