Way to go Tigger!!!!!!
Thank you so much for starting the monthly thread, you rock. And now I know for sure, that Tiggers really are wonderful things!!
Good morning all. I hope everyone had sweet dreams!! I'm feeling o.k. after my fall yesterday. Today it is just the top of my upper legs that are very tight and sore.
My goal for March is to lose 1.5 lbs a week. I'd like to lose a total of 5 lbs really. I will get measured at Curves on Monday and will figure out inches lost, but it will be from Nov. that I'm comparing to.
Where has Sherry D been? I haven't seen a post from here in a while. I'm sure Annette is busy with school and family. Freeda usually pops in a the weekend so I hope to see her soon too.
I think I just may take today off from Curves and lippy(eliptical). I just realized my back is a little tight too.
O.k. I'm off and walking slow, but I'll pop in later.
Remember girls, faith isn't believing what you see, it's seeing what you believe. BELIEVE you are a slipper camp loser and soon you wiil SEE you are!!
Peace,
Rosa
HOORAY for TIGGER! ![]()
Welcome Slipper Stompin' Sisters to March's thread!! I hope everyone is doing well and able to make it over from Feb's thread, and I will be checking back for any stragglers or lost newbies. I know the opener is heavily "borrowed" from Pam's openings (again I didn't promise greatness) but she honestly really does know how to say it best and "if it ain't broke", you don't want this clutz touching it....lol We might be starting out a little shaky, but I am looking forward to this new chance, new month, in my and everyone else's journey SHARING SORROWS, SUPPORT AND SUCSESSES here on the board. There are some on here (me included) who like to post thier starting weight for the month and share the loss or gain from the previous month, so if you are so inclined, please do, so that we can support you! (no matter where you are on the scale) ...... Tigger
I am MARCHing Proud! This morning I am 166 after losing 6 pounds in February.

I FULLY agree I think MIMI would make a fabulous prez, she's smart, sassy, supportive, sincere, knows how to load a dishwasher and full of modesty (When I tried to label her as perfect her defense was that she was certainly not perfect that she had been wrong ( but only once) in her life). but like a true politican it wasn't long before her tune changed and she was admitting to imperfections. (my fave is "I've fallen off the wagon so many times I've left ruts in the road") and we have had crazier presidents but most of them knew that you are supposed to burn your bra in protest , not your granny panties in the back yard. Since she lives in Blizzard conditions, ( not making it out of her driveway let alone cross country on a campain trail) and since I don't even know if MIMI is a US citizen, ( I think she might be one of those crazy canadian types) we might just want to let her be, let her and her computer rest up, so that she can come back on here stronger than ever sharing her smart, sassy, supportive, sincere, best kept secret, self with us. MIMI My prayers are with you and I hope you accept this little mini-roast with the love and honor for which it was intended. ..... Tigger
Catching up on few responses from last
month's thread....
LIS- Glad to see you back ! Please give
Michael lots of hugs and big wet slobbery kisses for me (go ahead,
you can tell your husband I made you do it...wink wink)
CHIQUITA- CONGRATS !! 6 lbs WOO HOO! I
also lost 6 lbs my first month here coincidence??
maybe not.
ROSA- your comment on didn't dislocate
knee had me lol. I'm soo happy that your jeans fit!!, sad if your
icy fall is what caused them to rip. Sherry D is a self proclaimed
nomad and likes to wander from thread to thread. Fret not, I'm sure
she will find her way back here in her in one of her many travels.
RAYNE- I still cannot get my computer
to do the big letters like you do. Would you like to continue on as
our success shouting cheerleader ?
ALL- I am still waiting till Tuesday to
get an answer from the bank on the disputes I filed from the gym
charges. Good news is I was there yesterday, grabbed a blank
contract and stepped on the scale. My bathroom scale has been
hovering btw 270-272. I got on and slid the weight towards 270, (
thinking that's the least I would weigh) and it was still too heavy!
I was shocked! but hey, if the scale wants to say I weigh less, I
am not going to be the one to argue with it! My weight is 269! I am
in the 60's WOO HOO! That's 17 lbs since January, and 23 lbs total!
Did I mention the WOO HOO part ?? ln less than 20# i can move that big honkin' weight off 250 and onto 200!! I think this calls for a
celebratory happy dance in my granny panties.doo rooo do roo doo
roo.LOL. ..... Tigger
PS Speak up! How's everyone else
doing?
Mimi has my vote!!!!
Tigger-that was a most amusing post, love it, love it, LOVE IT!! I have no doubt that Mimi will fight this battle with all her might(and the power of the USS behind her)and be back stronger than ever before we know it. She is a scappy little gal.
I guess I should post my weight and not just my goals for the month. I am at 156 lbs. this morning and have been holding steady at that weight. Since Jan. 1, I have lost 7 lbs-5 in Jan. and 2 in Feb. I know I will need to kick it up a notch this month as it is the month of the dreaded Peanut butter eggs!!
Ofcourse it is also the month that brings Spring. And ofcourse that means new beginnings and the season of love. Rebirth, flowers, GREEN grass, planning my veggie garden, baby bunnies(a LOT of babies), sunshine and warm weather. Ahh, I can almost smell it in the air. Can't wait to taste a fresh cucumber, tomato, zucchini, basil etc....
Limping off to dream of the days to come......
Peace,
Rosa
P.S. will post my measurements on Monday.
Hi All, I'm so ready to March pround and put Feb behind me. Lead on Tigger. I was already into cofee / breakfast this morning when I realized it was the 1st, so I'll weigh in the morning before anything passes these lips. Keep your fingers crossed for me... 16...16...16...16....
Susanne - enjoy the well deserved rest - you had an amazing week. I can't even wrap my head around running.
Mimi - so glad you took a moment to post... we were wondering and hoped you well. Still do!
Lis - 14 pounds sine 1/6 Woooooohoooooo! What a great exercise schedule you shared, no wonder you're so successful.
Chiquita - 6 lbs - AWESOME!
Oh yeah, doing good with water. It was easy as soon as I remembers 2 glasses with each meal and 1 with each snack.
Thanks to all for continued support.
Tigger, nice intro to March. Thank you. Must think of "MARCHing Proud" anytime I start to flag. Invigorating words. ![]()
Rosa, sorry to hear that you fell and are sore. I still have to go back to many pages in February to catch up on all that has happened.
I love your closing thoughts which are very close to a mantra of mine (which I must remember more often!) which came from my spiritual teachers Believing is Seeing
Chiquita, way to go! Six pounds is great.
I was fighting water weight gain most of February, but am happy to say I started this month by getting back to 168.2. Total loss for year 12.4 pounds. February was a draw, or a bit of a gain. I was keeping tabs on my calves and ankles while swollen (edema) and the calves get 1.5 inches bigger from the water. The ankles are only about half inch bigger, but look much bigger. My feet were swollen enough to make putting on shoes hard. I need to get appointment with cardiologist. My doc thinks I may have to change one of my meds, or maybe two. One she thinks is making my blood pressure too low, and the other may be causing my dizzines and imbalance of late. But that may also be cause dby having hit my head a few too many times. I'm a klutz! LOL
My car was almost fixed yesterday. They'd discovered that I also needed a wiper motor. Got the part, said it would be a few minutes and my husband left me there to go to work. Of course, my luck being what it is with cars, the new part was defective, so they had to order another one. They were going to put it on today, but the part got there AFTER the mechanic had to leave to go to a wedding. They lent me a 2000 Caravan, because we needed two cars for the weekend due to full house and husband having to arrive while we were still at work. Was nice of the place. Only thing is the van is psychotic. It keeps thinking a door is open and since it locks all the doors when van is moving, it keeps trying to lock the doors. Clicking every clicking. Trouble is it doesn't start to believe doors are open til one is going down the road and can't check the doors. Also the brake light is on, and the brakes have to go rather far down to stop the vehicle.
In the SOMEONE is watching over us department: A few days ago, husband took daughter to work with him so she could do her banking and then shopping afterwards as he was only going in to place food order. On the way back from Stowe, a car with no back lights of any kind (brake or signal) suddenly stops in front of them to make a left turn. Husband slams on brakes to avoid it, and spins to across the road position and is narrowly missed by an oncoming pickup truck. This was in his van.
THEN...today I have three other people with me and am leaving work where we go onto a dirt road from back parking lot. The drifts are high. A town plow truck is to my left, so I stop, but can't continue when truck driver gives me right of way. I go back down into lot to get a running start to get through the snow. Driver is giving me the go ahead signal. I glance to my right to make sure no one is coming down the hill. I turn back and see driver frantically signalling me NOT to go. I slam on the brakes such as they are as a red car comes zooming past the truck in the lane I'm going into. I am preparing to hit the car hoping brakes will somehow stop me in time. Miracle happens and I stop, and the red car manages to miss me as well as it speeds on by. I stopped to ask the driver if I'd misread his go ahead signal...but I hadn't. He was signaling me to go and had hand out to keep the Other driver from passing him. The idjit ignored the STOP of the truck driver and nearly killed 4 people.(and whoever was in his/her car) We drove on in relief, and the poor brakes were hitting rock bottom as I came to the stop sign. Not good when one hears that kind o' clumping sound. They seem to improve back to the former badness as we progressed...in the gear below drive to help use the car to stop itself. So will have to go down the mile long hill twice more before I get my car back. At least the Caravan is good in the snow, and for the most part I will be going so early no one else is on the road. Thank you, God, for I am alive to tell the story.
Truly appreciating Life

Rosa, you are making me want to get very ambitious and to plant a garden this year. I have grown tomato and pumpkin plants, and have a strawberry patch going into third year. I just don't have a roto-tillar to til a big space. I used hoe and trowel for all the above. First I need to get a lawn mower, so I can find the lawn. THEN I might be able to find enough space for a few things. Also need to get after those DARNED burdock plants which are winning the battle. Tried to poison them, but that was a failure. I wish roto-tillars weren't A. so big they don't really fit in the car, and B. so heavy point A is moot.
Well, time to try to catch up to February's posts. Need to know what is happening with everyone.
Susanne, Way to go at the gym. I need to take a page from your book and eat more veggies. I tend to gravitate toward fruit. Will be cheering you on as you reach your size six!
Debbie, condolences on loss of cardiologist and his wife. Congrats on not buying girl scout cookies.
Macky, sounds like you are doing well with looser clothing as proof. Maybe in your case you could do measurements, rather than weigh yourself. That way you can track progress and not have to step on the scale. At least for the time. As you thin down, you might find that the scale is no longer such a scary thing, but rather a thing that helps you celebrate your losses. Best of luck on your new Best Life.
Tigger, I am enjoying your post of Feb 24th ...speaking of replying to posts from pages ago..I'm doing that right now. *laugh*
Re wrapping birthday presents in Christmas paper... I tend to do that a lot, due to the fact I always have a lot of Christmas paper, and no birthday paper. My mother had my sister the elder in December and me in June (Sagitarrius and Gemini) Then my daughter had her two boys, the elder in December (Sagitarrius) and the younger in May (Gemini) Thought that was kind neat. But it definitely is fun to be the one that is 6 months away from Christmas. I try to treat both birtdays equally, Gabriel is 24 days off Christmas. My sister is 8 days away. My mother did a good job of treating the birthdays equally.
I like your yard saling storiy. I love yard sales. Not to mention, when there are yard sales, there are not record breaking snow storms happening. Snowiest February on record. Snowiest Dec- Feb. Over 100 inches of SNOW this season! yikes!
Rayne, I like Survivor and CSI (usually Vegas) as well. Too bad Survivor is on at same time Idol results are. I miss the results show of course. This week, I managed to get all the way to pre tribal council, then zzzzzzzzzzz. I fall asleep WAY too often if I am watching tv in bed. My back deals with bed much easier than any of our chairs. Of course, getting up at 2am doesn't help. *laugh* I loved (still do but watch less often now) HGTV. Was one of my most watched channels when I first got satellite. Love House Hunters...I love seeing different houses. I like Property Ladder and A&E's original Flip THIS house..now Real Estate Pros/The Real Deal (they changed titles in midstream) on TLC (I think) Trademark of South Carolina is the company in these. Flip THIS house now features different companies and I don't watch it much. I'm easing off the flipping shows lately though. I also like the CHALLENGE shows on food network. Ok, I admit, I'm an America's Next Top Model junkie. Fox used to show the new ones an hour after they ran on CW, which we don't get, but in the middle of the last season, Fox stopped cold.
Now I watch them when they are on either VH1 or MTV. I love the AMAZING RACE. That and Survivor are probably my favorites. Like So You Think You Can Dance too.
Susanne, you are an inspiration with you workouts. I will rejoin gym as soon as I get my car back...dang, I miss my car. *sobbing with laugh* I have been getting exercise though, shoveling snow and a bit on the TM. I like the TM at gym better though..quality tells. I walk on 10 incline when I use theirs. Mine doesn't tell me what inlcine I'm at. mmmm, sweet potato. Should have one for dinner tonight.
76 and SUNNY?
I'm Jealous! LOL
Chiquita, thanks for posting that lovely prayer. I've copied it, so I can always remind myself. again, thanks.
Rayne, I hope you had a wonderful time in Lincoln City. Hope the PT is becoming less torturous as you get better and better.
I agree about the men being better this year. I didn't even vote for women's night, though I probably should have put a few in for the Irish girl. On men's night I had 10 votes in for David Archuletta before he was off the stage (he was last singer that night, so the phones were opened.)
On to the next page

Hello...I'm new to this and already enjoying the great words of encouragement and advice from everyone. I'm a single mother of four teenagers and work full time. I have been battling with my weight forever. Most days I get sooo discouraged. I just got a membership for the local YMCA here in town which I hope will help. My only problem is I was in a car accident about 4 years ago and to this day I am treated for lower back pain which the pain runs into my left leg (trying to avoid surgery). Well, please just keep me in your thoughts.
