One of my BIG AHA moments is on page 96. It reminded me of how Dorothy, the Great Oz, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow allowed their thoughts and emotions to control their lives. "Be aware that what you think, to a large extent, creates the emotions that you feel. See the link between your thinking and your emotions. Rather than BEING your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them."
My goodness, gracious, I sat straight up in my chair as if a bolt of lightening struck me when I read that quote! Could it really be the simple, that straightforward? Take time to sweep the noise from your head so you can be still and present. I can't recall ever taking a moment to be still or present in my life of 54 years. This book and the endless AHA moments I have experienced in the past two weeks have allowed me to reacquaint myself with a passion to get my life going again.
I stopped taking sleeping pills, I'm listening to music instead of the TV, I'm exercising daily, and I had sex with my husband for the first time in over 6 months! I have always had a passion for cooking and I am now looking into going to Culinary School. Let's get this party started!
