Well all i can say is if i had the money those people they interviewed had, i would embrace my age of 56. I have to work 15 hours a day to pay my $700 a month health insurance bill not to mention the extra $50 it costs me for my prescriptions, my back steroid injections monthly, and my YMCA membership so i can attend their water aerobics class so i dont die where i sit. That is almost half my monthly income. I am trying so hard to save $20,000 for a much needed mini bypass surgery, but medical is killing me. Oprah...not everyone can embrace mid life when you are single and have no money for extras. Life is a struggle for me and sometimes i wish it was over. I thought this was suppose to be the "golden years" but when i got divorced ten years ago, i was plunged into poverty. I got no spousal support whatsoever to help me through the transition as he conveniently retired. New middle age??? Not for me...just a lot pain and work..nothing to embrace here.
