Oprah has it all wrong. She needs to give credit where credit is due. Oprah you might have thought you coined the word but you obviously don't have friends that use "Yiddish" or have anyone on your staff that was willing to stand up to you or check that you didn't think up the word. You spelled it a little different but the meaning is the same. "Schlump" is a Yiddish word that can be found in the dictionary. You have the right meaning of the word but you in fact did not come up with it. Jewish people use the word "Schlumpadick" to describe a person who looks frumpy. Just do a simple google and you would have found the root of the word you thought up. Mazal Tov on learning a new Yiddish word.

I thought the show was great. The clothes we choose to wear are another form of communication. People will make a snap decision about us, based on what we are wearing. We all do it, it may not seem fair, but it is a fact. So I'm glad Oprah does these shows in addition to the more serious subjects. Life should be about being well balanced. Life is too short not to look as cute as you can. And do not listen to the posts that tell you not to worry about how you look, they usally are the women who have no desire to improve their own looks. So they would prefer you stop trying also.

To Peanfi right ahead of me, my daughter is your height, and she buys Lands End pants and jeans, and they will hem them to her length, which might be 25 or 26 inches. She wears 14 Petite. YEAAA for Lands End.

Schlumpadinka?... try sclumpadicka. I had to laugh out loud at the audacity of Ms O thinking she invented this word. Doesn't anyone on her staff tell her the truth? Although she's not a New Yorker, she has a big research staff... and this is an old word (from Yiddish) that New Yorkers of every persuasion use. We've got lots of ethnic words that we all share... from the Italians, Irish, etc. Claiming YOU invented it is comical and embarrassing. Ms O -- please wake up and get a little humility again. You're a nice lady who got real lucky. You do some good things and some dumb things. Your ego is going to backfire on you.

I live on top of a mountain in a town with only a post office and a gas station. I do all my clothing shopping in the next town, with a super walmart. So, of course I am a Super Shlumpadinka. But, when I look at the prices that you all seem to think reasonable, they just blow me away. I am 72 and have been very ill, I want to feel better and look better so I went to an online shop and spent almost $300.00 and my husband is horrified! We are retired and hardly have any money. Do, you ever do shows for the retired, poor folks with really cheap prices? I know there must be a bunch of us out there. I am on "Home Health Care" now and am doing very well and working hard to become strong again. I hope I haven't screwed up our budget to go to my 55 year high school reunion, as it will be the last one I will ever go to. I am a Big Woman 200+ so I hope some of the clothes I bought will fit and I can be proud of how I look again. It would make me very happy if everyone who reads this would send good vibes my way to help me regain my strength. And BTW, Medicare finally got something right with home health care. I am recieving the best care of my entire life. The folks in my part of VA are just plain folks and all very friendly and nice and on a clear day I can see for a 100 miles from my back deck. And the air here is clean and pure.
