I watch the show today with Valerie Bertinelli and she is so real...which makes me luv and respect her. When she said she wanted to prove others wrong about staying married to her husband because they thought she couldn't, it reminded me of the marriage I was in. Not wanting to stay but not wanting to give others the satisfaction of saying, I told you it wouldn't last....also, I loved it when Oprah but the book up to her and asked if this was the women she was visualizing to be.. Visualizing a better outcome is a very powerful thing..I believe in that power within us...I believed I could get back to the weight I am today and at 50 years old I feel pretty darn sexy again...so never give up and get real with yourself..Valerie showed that today...Way to go, you have woke some women up today Oprah to getting real with themselves...:D

I loved the show! Valerie--you go girl! It is never too late to start over. Life happens. What is important, and this is where I am so impressed with you, is that you didn't let pride get in the way--you faced a life of unhappiness and turned it into something good and wonderful.

You look amazing! When you joined Jenny Craig, I started my own weight loss plan (which is working) and you are light of strength and courage for me.

What you did today on Oprah will benefit all those who have taken in your transformation to inspire them to lift their lives to a higher level of oneness and love for oneself. We need to be happy with ourselves, and love ourselves before we can share it with the world and make it a better place to live. Many cannot take such a journey alone, but with the strength you emanate, you will help many. My very best wishes to you.

I love today's show & for the first time I got my boyfriend to watch the oprah show cause he thinks that's a show for girls only kind of a macho thing, but his Idol has always been Eddie Van Halen, you see he grew up listening to eddie's music & has been inspired by him,up until this day that's he's number one person in the world so of course when I told him they where going to talk about eddie & show pictures of him he really wanted to hear what she had to say about him, so to me was hysterical to actually see that he sat thru the whole show & watch ,so for me today's show was a double pleasure, I think she was great & very courageous to come out so clean but then again like oprah said it's all out there in the book so there's no turning back,my boyfriend thought she was very inmature for her age but anyway all he care was about what she had to say about Eddie,so maybe who knows one day oprah will invite Eddie to the show, whoa if that ever happen it will be a huge hit, just for the fact that he really doesn't do interviews,I think it will be terrific, who knows maybe now that the band is touring!GREAT IDEA VAN HALEN AT THE OPRAH SHOW, the rating will definitely go thru the roof, all the man will be watching. Anyway it was a great show & she looks terrific ,lost crazy weight. keep it up oprah no one like you!

What I found so amazing about Val, was this, she is SO much like us 40 something girls! And she was talking to us like we were all friends sitting around our livingrooms with HER! There were things I would have loved to say to her as she was telling her stories, things that I could relate to. Did I do coke, no, wasn't into that stuff, but I sure drank a lot growing up! Hell, I grew up in Germany. I think each and everyone of us have things that we did that we are not proud of, and she just so happens to be in a position that she can share things with everyone. If she wasn't famous, she could easily be any one of our girlfriends!!! I married at 19, had a son at 21, a second son at 25, married 16 years, and finally got the courage up to leave!! We all have things that we wish we were more succesful in, myself, I have bred and shown collies for 14 years, and long for that one BIG win in the show ring, but you know what, my dogs have touched the lives of many owners, and that is my BIG win in this breed! Val just so happen to find her success in front of everyone on that great show!

I feel like I grew up watching Valerie Bertinelli and have always been a fan. I honestly feel like she kind of made a fool of herself today and was disappointed in the show. There are a lot of woman that need to lose a lot more than 40 pounds out there. She gave us way more information than we needed to know about her relationships and mistakes though out life. It looked like a publicity stunt to me. If telling the world makes her feel better than more power to her I guess.

It took much courage for Valerie to tell her truth. Good for her, now she can move on....what about you? Does anyone remember the name of the sweet snack she loved? Valerie showed the box while looking in her refrigerator. Love you Valerie! You look GREAT!!

I cried through most of today's show, especially when Valerie spoke about the physical weight you carry and the emotional weight that makes you walk with your shoulders slumped and your eyes down. I was like that, and sometimes still am because even after losing 61 lbs on a different weight-loss program, I still feel the same emotions she felt. I also cried because I was relieved that someone I admire was feeling the exact same way. Most of my friends never had a weight problem, and either does my husband, so when Valerie described how she felt when she was overweight, I looked at him and said, "now do you understand where I'm coming from?". I'm only a couple of years younger than Valerie and I feel that I too can feel as wonderful about myself ans she appears to...not like I'm some washed-up aging hag, like I feel sometimes.

If I have one wish I'd like to have granted before I die, I'd like to meet Valerie and tell her what an inspiration she's been to me and what an awesome job she's done figuring out her own life!! Thanks, Oprah for having her on your show, and thanks Valerie for being so open and honest.

I have always been a huge fan of Valerie's (Delaware native myself) and I think she is a brave woman. Everyone should be as honest, I too married way too young and never felt it was the brightest idea. My surprise today was listening to Valerie express the same exact sentiments about how the aftermath of 9/11 effected her. That was also the time of my wake up call, to get out of my loveless marriage. Good to see Valerie with a good man, an intact relationship with her son and his father.

I could only watch about 15 min. of Val. Bertinelli's tell-all show - I was totally disgusted! So much for the girl-next-door/All-American-girl image. Is everything in Hollywood a complete and utter sham? Is there anyone there not sleeping around and taking all the drugs they can get their hands on? I thank God that I don't have a daughter, because just look at their so-called "role-models". Where the heck were VB's parents while she was dating/sleeping with Steven Spielberg at 19!!!!!!

I missed the part about the miracle exercise vest also. She didn't say where you could get one. I wish Oprah would list on her site. I checked the internet and didn't see anything like the clip they showed of her and her boyfriend walking with it on.

If anyone knows where to get the vests, please post.

What a great show and what a wondeful, honest woman Valerie Bertinelli is. I can so relate to something she said today and it made me cry then as it does now... she mentioned hating to hear when the birds would start singing first thing in the morning (this was usually around 4am for me) as she knew she had stayed up all night getting high. I too used to hate that sound as I knew I had just stayed up all night for the same reason...I 've never heard anyone else say, excatly how I used to feel... Thank God I've been clean for many, many years and I no longer dread hearing the birds sing in the morning. I'm so grateful for the fabulous life I have now and so glad you had Valerie on your show today.

I too, am disappointed in her airing all her dirty underwear about her sex life. Who really cares? I have son Wolfgang's age and we both enjoyed the concert two weeks ago. Could you imagine if either one of your parents did this? I think I would die of shame. What is it with these aging celebreties who are so hard up for attention and money that they would air this kind of stuff before thinking of their kids' feelings. No wonder Eddie VanHalen had no comment. Bad as he was and can be he has some class.
