Chapter 2 "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle

The last paragraph in chapter two resonated with me. This is the second reading and I all but missed it the first time I read the book. Tolle speaks about yielding internally and surrendering. I know this, because it's as if it happened with out me even trying. It was an opening up, a recognition of something still--no voice like ego, but, that still quiet feeling. My grandmother used to sing this song, I think it was "I Surrender All'. Yes, yes, yes. It is surrendering ego or at least recognizing it, because that's the knowing you that is speaking from spirit. It's the "inner openness you become one with." I can't begin to speak on the small moments that seemed to just line up and make me smile to myself and know that God is speaking to us all the time. It's only in the moments of pure letting go when we hear the whisper. What an opportunity that Oprah has given to the world of readers and watchers of her show. This is one of the best things she could have done. Reading this book and opening up, as Tolle says, changes the very vibration of your life. Once you open, there's no closing the door of enlightenment.

Identification with the body Page 51 "as the body begins to weaken, the formless dimension, the light of consciousness, can shine more ealisy through the fading form" resonated with me. So are you saying that knowing who I am will always shine through my consciousness as I age no matter what happens to my body (disease, old age, etc.). What happens to the light after I die?
