Hello Nate,
I'm writing to you in hopes that you'll choose us to build our dream home. This is mainly for my husband, who deserves this wish so much. He is currently in Iraq on his 3rd deployment for the Army. This tour will be 15 months long, and he will retire when he gets home. He was the 1st group to go into Afghanistan and the 1st group to go into Iraq and he serves with honor, courage and integrity. Alot of soldiers have had a rough time like what my husband, Michael, is going through. His ex-wife used his name and credit via the Power-of-attorney that he had to give her when he deployed and left him in staggering debt that he had no knowledge of until he got home and was summoned to his superior to be told of the damage. At that time, his ex runs off with another military man and takes everything. This happens to so many soldiers. We have paid almost all the debt, but it ruined my husband's credit. He is due to retire in February 2009 and I'm terrified that after all he has done for our country, he will not be able to own a home. We have been married for almost 7 years and have been doing without alot so we could get the debt gone. Most of our furniture is things we were given to us, and we found a place on base where the military discards their old furniture that we fixed up. I don't want this to be a "pity us" situation, instead I want my husband to feel that if you spend your life sacrificing and live with good morals, integrity, and honor, then America will appreciate their soldiers and will give them a "Welcome Home" thanks, by helping a soldier when they can. We don't want or need a mansion. Just a 3 to 4 bedroom home in or near Venice, Florida, so we can be near his parents. Michael lost a sister to cancer. And has had 2 siblings get cancer while he was deployed, one of which is currently undergoing radiation treatments. It would be such a blessing for me and his family to see Michael come home to his own home and look forward to starting a new life in the country he has been fighting for, rather than worrying about where can we find a place to live. My husband's dream home would be environmently friendly. And he loves to garden and he paints landscapes on canvases as another hobby. He has a 15 year old son, Matthew, and an 11 year old that he treats as his own, so we are hoping they could have their own rooms so they know they are always welcome. I pray you choose us for your next "Dream Home" project. My husband truly deserves a place to call home. Thank you for your consideration.
