I am also a huge David Cassidy fan and have been so for over 40 years. (I am now 45). I never forgot his birthday-April 12, 1950. It was on the back of his record album along w/many other great facts about him. I recently saw him down in south florida at gulfstream racetrack singing and we all had such a great time singing along to all his music word for word. I think he got a laugh out of it too. It was so funny that all the women my age had his lunch box or record album with them. His songs are so easy to sing and the melodies are so great. I have all the Partridge family cd's and play them in my car all the time. I don't care if people say that it was so long ago. I think his music is terrific and even though I listen to all sorts of music today there is something about the words of his music that you never forget. When I show my students in school David's picture when he was a teenager and I tell them that he was my heart throb back then (just as they have heartthrobs today) they get a kick out of it. They all admit he was very cute and still is but that gorgeous feathered back dark hair back then was adorable and that adorable smile. who can forget it? I always imagine how hard it must have been to fight off all those screaming women for so long. That could really get exhausting but at the same time he must have felt pretty good that he achieved such success. I will even admit when I was younger my best friend and I used to pretend we were David and Lori and we would argue over who would be who and sing into our hairbrushes. We will never forget those days and still talk about them today. David, you brought great happiness into the lives of many of us and we will always remember them. Keep going and we will keep supporting you. I check your website out all the time. Thanks joyful2727

I was a huge fan of David Cassidy when I was a teen. I watched all the Partridge family shows and had 100's of posters and just about all of the albums. I also saw him in concert 3 times. My family makes fun of me because I still listen to his music. A couple of years ago my youngest daughter bought me 2 Partridge Family CD's for Christmas and when my 4 year granddaughter heard the musice she was hooked. We now have all the Partridge Family and David Cassidy CD's that are available and for her 5th birthday she wanted the Partridge family show DVD so she has the 1st season of the Partridge Family and watches it weekly. We play the CD's in the van when it is just the 2 of us and we sing along. She liked "Keith" the best on the show. She watched a show on the Biography channel about the Partridge Family and came running up to me and said "Did you know they have games, a lunch box and bubble gum cards?' I had to explain that you can't find them in the stores anymore because that was a long time ago. It is hard to explain to her that he is older and doesn't look the same. We watched the Oprah show together and after the show she said that she liked him better when he looked like Keith. Thank you Oprah for refreshing our memories of a time when things were less complicated. I love watching many of the older TV shows. I loved watching the Cosby show also. It was a wonderful show and it was nice to see how the kids have grown up. I hope that you will do more shows with the people from the older TV shows and more of the older heartthrobs. Keep up the good work.

I was at this taping.... and dont fear Rick Springfield fans..... he was there and they will have a show. They had overbooked guests.... and the show ran so long they decided to split it into 2 shows. Rick sang 2 songs.... did an interview and they showed the clip where he surprised a fan at the hospital she works at. Henry winkler was also there discussing his new childrens books (which my daughter loooooves, by the way) The producers didnt give us the air date of ricks show, they just told us to keep on checking the website and they will put the show date on there. So just keep checking fans. Rick looked good.... wore a black suit with a white buttoned up shirt. I would of prefered a pair of tight jeans though. We all got ricks cd with all his hits on it. Boy that sure brought back memories of when i was younger. I used to play house.... i was always olivia newton john and rick was always my make believe boyfriend....haha. Those were the days!!

My experience growing up with the Cosby Show was worth joining the Oprah site
just to say hello and express my love for them.

Having grown up in a broken home, Cosby was my anchor to true family. I longed to
be in a solid family as the Cosby family portrayed. All I ever wanted was to grow up
and have that family. The Cosby gang was example to any race that a happy family is possible.

As a white person I saw no color boundaries. I never thought of it as an african american show.

I think of Bill Cosby and think of not just "comedian" Cosby, but "cosmic"
Cosby. My family enjoyed his recordings back in the sixties, when I was
just a ten year old. I have enjoyed his humor and wisdom at every stage
of my life. It was such a fortunate thing that he had the "Cosby Show"
in the eighties. I remember coming home from our "Camp Fire" kids
meeting, when I had a CARLOAD of extremely active kids. They were
getting a little too rowdy, so I pulled over. All I had to do was say, "If you
all want to get home in time to see the Cosby Show, you had all better
settle down!" It worked like a charm. The car got quiet and we went on
our way. Another generation hooked on "Cosby"!

Now as my husband and I have become grandparents last month, we
look forward to enjoying his humor from yet another stage of life. Thank
you Mr. Cosby and may God bless you and your family (and you, Oprah,
for celebrating what he has given us with his Cosby family).

I have to say my whole life my parents have brought me up on The Cosby's. I love the show and have huge respect to the show and my parents. I can easly remember the episodes I have seen. In a way it really hurt when Bill said NO to their ever being a reunion special. I really, really, would like to see what happend to my favorite tv family! I know he delivered it through a joke, but still, I really want there to be a reunion, even if it comes down to me producing and directing the special myself!!!

I grew up in Nigeria in a middle class family, we so much love the show, you don't want to miss an episode, as an adult now, i still watch all reruns,i never really appreciated what the show was potraying about the African-American lives, until i got to the United States and saw the reality of it all, to butress what i'm saying we love all the Black American shows that we saw when we were kids ,but the import of what was going on we didn't get, when i know what the cosby show was about i feel so happy, compared to Good Times ,i could not bring myself to watch reruns of it on Tvland ,because that was so depressing for me .On one of those moments my husband, had to talk to me about the realities of what was going on.

Once again Thanks the Huxtable family for potraying us in such a good light,Good job to you all.

Love the Cosby show and anytime I can see reruns I will watch it. I am a midwestern girl and caucasian at that and love the Cosby's. I never had some of the thoughts that you shared on the show. I did not see the color, only the family, how they live and the standards that they represented so well. Unfortunately, like Mr. Cosby said, we need to go back to this. Isn't it always life imitating art? All this violence in our country (spouses against spouses/and some of those pregnant, family against family, etc.) is what we see on the television. The news only show the bad. We had something very bad happen in Kirkwood Mo last week and they sensationalized it. They even broadcast from that location. Spent countless hours on it. If it is negative and violence that we watch day in and day out, isn't that where our society is headed? Thank you to Bill and all the Cosby family for giving me the laughter and the true meaning of family and life as we all hope and pray it could be. Taller buildings, shorter tempers, larger homes, smaller families, wider streets and now we do not even go across them to visit our neighbors. I want more wholesome shows and movies.

The Cosby Show - had never heard of it until I came to the US about 8 months ago. I have been watching the show ever since and havent missed a single re-run till today !!! I ensure I finish all my tasks just in time for the show. Its a fantabulous show and like one I havent seen anywhere till now !!! Its absolutely marvellous to see a family like theirs in total harmony and love for each other every passing day. The way Dr.Huxtable brings out the best in every person of his family is simply mindblowing. I can totally understand how influential he must have been during those days.

I was thrilled to see the Cosby kids on your show the other day!! Infact, I was in tears when I saw the sets of the Huxtable residence. The show means a lot of me and I sure have picked up a lot of good things from it. I hope I'm able to give that to my kids in the same way as Dr.Huxtable and Mrs.Huxtable did. They are my role models for perfect parents :)

Thanks soooooo much for having them on the show !!! Love ya, Oprah !!!

I, too, spent a lot of time watching the Cosbys and wanted someday to pattern my life and raising kids in the manner the Cosbys did. It was something to aspire to: being a parent who listened and reasoned and was wise and loving. I need, however, to get something off my chest and it is this. I eventually became an inner-city high school teacher. It was a really rough situation and it was amazing that some of those kids showed up at all, given the circumstances they were coming from. I was in love with what I was doing and with my kids and an awful lot of them were in love with me, but it was a tough, tough, heartbreaking job with an admin and city which never felt we teachers did enough, and we certainly were never paid enough. Then, one night at 1:37a.m. when I sat in my living room marking a set of pre-Christmas last minute fake"final exams" our adminstration had forced us to give to encourage our students to attend instead of cutting classes the week before Christmas, and mandated us teachers to mark and return the next morning, a commercial comes on the television I had left on trying to keep me awake: Mr. Bill Cosby, on a public service announcement, encouraging the general public to become teachers in the inner city and Make A Difference, like it was going to be a Fantasy Job, Like his son who was attending Columbia University was doing. The only thing saving me from throwing something through the screen of the tv was knowing I couldn't afford to buy another one. I often wondered if anyone else saw that commercial and was moved to go teach by it, and what their experience was.

I loved, LOVED, seeing David Cassidy and the Cosby kids!! It was great fun. My 11 year old daughter who watched the Oprah show with me, didn't know anything about David, but did know about the Cosby kids from Nick at Night. We both had a good time watching. Thanks for the memories.....

Wow where do I start I have seen the Cosby show in the 1990's ever since I was five or six and I still see the re runs of the show today. It is all about family good morals and how kids are growing up. It reminded me of how i grew up and looking back at the kids when they came on the show and they are ingood positions and it was amazing and it still inspires me....

I was a huge David fan. I suppose he is tired of the same old songs, but we aren't! He ran through the songs so that they were barely recognizeable and had no feeling. I was disappointed and chose to click off before his final performance.

It was enlightening when the statement was made that people of color grew up without seeing a "normally functioning" black family on television. There's so much I can't possibly know because I'm not a person of color. I hope eventually we truly are all equal in each others' sight and celebrate our different cultures. Personally, I am Irish and caucasion. We don't have caucasion magazines or caucasion award shows or caucasion college funds but one day maybe all cultures will be celebrated. For right now, I'm satisfied being southern and being Irish. St. Patricks Day is coming up! I hope Bill Cosby continues to live a long long life and a healthy one! I admire him so much. I still have his album "To Russell My Brother Whom I Slept With" completely by memory. My family and I quote pieces of it all the time!! And all of us hurt when he lost his son. What a waste and travesty!!! Mr. Cosby speaks his mind and stands by his beliefs and doesn't care if he's popular, only that he does what he believes is right. This man is worthy of our admiration and following.

I have written the Oprah show about doing a real and honest show covering education in America. In Texas, it's a horrible situation. You get a degree, take several tests, must continue your education, must renew your certifications, work 60 hours a week and beginning pay mandated by the state is $28,000 a year. And, of course, we get retirement, such as it is, but no social security. It's CRAZY. "Profession"? I think not. I have told the Oprah show that surely if the public realized what was going on America would rise up and do something about it.
