Partridge Family w/ David Cassidy: One More Time, ABC?

Posted on Feb 14, 2008 12:52 PM

I have a feeling that if ABC were to just start running "Partridge Family" reruns once a week at 8:00 pm, then this show would be a hit all over again for the network. So many of the songs in it are just outstanding and still hold up today; it had very good scripts, much fine acting, real humor, and family relationships that made sense. And of course, the magic of David Cassidy! True, some aspects of "Partridge Family" are a bit dated, like certain references or fashions, etc. But that's not too important, really. It would be good for a whole new generation of folks to see this show once a week on a real network, and not just on cable somewhere......maybe they could come away from it a bit more cheery and singin' a good tune, instead of wanting to blast away their classmates with firearms or something. As a wise song once said, "C'mon, Get Happy!" It's time!

AMEN to that!!!
I'm all for it. I am so sick of the shows on Prime Time. Although I might enjoy some of them as an adult, the themes are very adult oriented during the 8-9 hour. My daughter is 11 and her bedtime is 8:30 on school nights. It would be very enjoyable to watch something like the Partridge Family with her. I find some of the shows on Nick or Disney ok but some are overridden with kids having attitudes, disrespecting teachers, parents or other authority figures. (And has anyone noticed the increased volume of the music and background noise in these shows?). So if they want to bring back any of the Partridge Family, Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island etc..., I think there would be a lot of very happy people. And if they do come back, let's put it on a channel that is accessable to all, not some specialty cable channel where we have to pay extra for it.
