Hello,

I would love to be able to communicate with someone who has lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer.

My husband was diagnosed on Aug. 28th with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer two weeks before Patrick Swayze passed away. I have no family nearby. I am having a very hard time and so is my husband. In November we will be married for 35 years, the same as Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa. We knew each other for 3 years before we were married. I was 19 and my husband was 22.

The depression is starting to take over in my life. Besides loving my husband, and he is my best friend, I am now his nurse and caregiver for him while he fights to battle this terrible disease.

I really need someone to talk to. My husband is in his second round of a three week treatment with the cancer drug Gemzar.

Please Anyone Write Back!

Janice

I agree with many of the writers who are embarrassed about the way Oprah kept interrupting Lisa. It was pitiful, and Oprah should be ashamed of herself. It is the main reason why I record the show - so I can fast forward through her monologs. I think someone should make Oprah watch this interview and experience it the way the viewers did. Oprah is a smart lady, and if she doesn't want to hear what her guests have to say, why invite them on in the first place?

I saw the interview with Patrick Swayze's widow, Lisa Niemi and I felt that she wasn't given due courtesy to finish thoughts. Questions were asked - valid questions which could allow us to learn more about her feelings and thoughts about her husband but she was interrupted so many times that I felt a wrench in my stomach in frustration. Lisa sometimes stammered trying to find the right words, sometimes hesitated trying to regain composure but Oprah kept asking question upon question and throwing in personal thoughts or interpretations which undermined the interview. If Oprah wanted the general public to feel some sense of Lisa's anguish, we were shortchanged. If anything I started getting angry that she wasn't able to complete a thought. To Lisa Niemi... my prayers are with you and Patrick. One day, I would like to hear what you have to say about the depth of the love and life that you and Patrick lived without an interrupting word from anyone.

I would really like to see the full episode of the interview with Lisa Niemi. I have not been able to find where you can view an episode if you miss it. Where or when can I catch it?

The interview with Lisa Niemi was awkward. Lisa kept laughing and giggling like she was on something. Ok I get they had the love of a lifetime but she isn't all there. She couldn't answer one question Oprah asked her. She would go off on something else and it got repetitive. Lisa could have expressed herself better. I wanted the book but Lisa really turned me off. She seemed flaky and giddy. Oprah did the best she could with what she had.

I was so disaapointed in the show...not because of Lisa but because of Oprah. I love Oprah. I tape each show and watch each one at night. mThat interview was not Oprahs best, infact I put it as 1 of her worse. The reason I feel that way is because I felt Oprah interrupted her so many times it frustrated me and found myself screaming at the TV , "Oprah stop interrupting her."

If Oprah watches the show she will see for herself how many times she walked on her answrers. With Mike Tyson she sat ther and let the silence be there and it was string. with lisa she made me feel that her questions were more important than Lisa's answers.

Oprah ..its time to take a step back and review your interviewing.

I had the great pleasure to actually be at the taping of the show but me and my friend who was at the show with me were surprised by the lack of emotion coming from lisa. she laughed alot and that was very surprising because I expected it to be a very emotional interview but it really wasnt. But i still enjoyed the show.

The reason Oprah interrupted Lisa so much was because Oprah was not getting the response she wanted from her which was that Lisa believed that Patrick was in heaven and that she felt his spirit in the room when he died. It wasn't until Lisa finally gave in after many leading questions that she said she still "felt" his presence that Oprah was happy.

I watched the show with Lisa Nieme and felt it may be too soon for her to be interviewing. It was akward when she never answerd any of the questions directly. Its understandable under the circumstances. After reading their book I realize how much they struggled. I pray she takes time to heal and not take anything personal. What a wonderful woman she is to give us a glimps of the reality of their envied live. God Bless you Lisa.
