Animal totems, what animal have you seen today!

Posted on Nov 28, 2008 5:09 PM

I was walking the beach this morning and came across a Sea Horse and I though wow now there is a totem I have not had before so I looked it up and this is what I found.

" This fascinating creature teaches us a variety of skills that are necessary to perfect our imperfections. When we open up to its teachings we return to the creative source of all that is."

I thought wow thats cool and then I realized that so many animals have been showing up in my life and I thinks it's time to start paying more attention to them.

I am offering this post as a place where you can tell us what animal came into your life today google totem and the animal and tell us all what you found out it means for you that way we can all learn more about how animals can give us messages we are looking for.

124sport, long time no chat and happy to feel your energy floating like a butterfly. I am teaching a class over on spirit I think you might enjoy, http://www.oprah.com/community/thread/116004 and this morning after posting this yesterday I awoke to two very spirited young stallions tormenting each other out side my window so listen to my own advice I looked into what this may signify in my life and this is what I found.

The horse is a sign of freedom and the power that comes with being free. We need to learn to own our freedom as just that, ours and not look down on others who do not wish to follow the same path. We must be teachers, yet allow our students to find their way in what ever style they wish to use. We can show then how to stand solid, some times even stubborn but freedom is theirs as well and we must set them free. Horse medicine people hold an energy of power, their leadership and teaching skills and intuition are usually in demand. They find pleasure in helping others but if those others attach them self's by climbing on they better be ready for a little good bucking. They will keep them selves grounded even when flying. Horses people once comfortable give their riders the safety of speed and the promise of adventure. They can carry you to places you never expected to find. Hang on and enjoy the ride. Trust thier footing and let them choose the path of least resistance, they will awaken your inner power and move forward with courage, so hang on tight.

Ride baby ride

*Dear Ashamans. So, sweet shaman, are those horses taking you for a gallop, a trot, or a walk? Perhaps a flat out run? I'm interested in what it feels like when you ride them. There are two of them. So, do you take turns and use each one for a different purpose or do you have one foot on each back, riding between them, like a rider in a circus or an old western? I can see you doing that! Truly! You are truly taking your power now. *

* A couple of days ago I was driving around the lake to go see some friends I met here on the Oprah forem, when out popped an otter. A white one. He looked right at me, even though I was driving by, on the opposite side of the road at about 35 miles per hour.*

* I know white is a prayerful color. It repels negitivity. It has all the spectrum of color in it. I also know that otters are playful and graceful. I did not know there were otters here. My sister said yes there is but they are very rare. I bet they use to be abundant around here. Like all natural things, in this earth time, they have been "killed" off as a species.*

* I have an affinity with water. We only have a shower to use here. I love deep baths, and essential lavander soaks. I feel like I'm rambeling but, I'm trying to gleen all the information out of this lesson that I can, while, I'm typing. I will meditate on it more tonight as I fall asleep. Please give me your insights into this. I use animal lessons for myself and others all the time. It is one of my heart places. I use to study about animals when I was a child all the time. So, I know a lot about them. They are not here just for us to look at or eat. They are a part of our soul and life. We are family and connected in all things.*

* For some reason, I thought of you when I saw that otter. At first I thought it was a seal, then I noticed the shape of its head. It had big soulful eyes. I can use artcrystal as my user name again! Yea!!!*

* Please give me your insights into this. *

Hi dear. I want to call you Burn Wheel. You speak up for your "truth". I responded to you on another thread. I can use my original user name artcrystal again. Keep turning and rolling with that fire in your heart. Fire burns but ,that lovely burn makes way for new growth! I was proud of you on that thread. I'm also sorry that such a simple question got off the track. That is why we are here. Love , acceptance, and understanding is the best way for accomplishing change, within us and for others.

* The wolf is a pathfinder. Notice which direction they go in your dreams? North, South, East ,West? That will tell you a lot. It might tell you which direction you must go to further your growth, which I know is so important to you. North, is Mind, adult issues. It breaths a fresh breath of air into your mind. A cleansing action. ADULT. South is child hood. Emotions ,Water. Emotions flow like water. West is teenage work. Physical body. Earth. A place to go into a cave a look for light in the darkness. East, is Old Age, Wisdom. Spirit*

* Follow that wolf. It Will lead you in the dark woods of your soul. It can smell the right way. It can see inside the dark. It has been in those places many times. It knows the way around. It knows where sustenance is and water, A place of rest and safety. It will teach you how to howl! You will gain the strength to run with it. You will know your pack! They will welcome you home , dear one.*

Brnwheel1, sorry did not see your post until today here is a little on your totem the wolf, they show up when we need strength in our life, they are resilient and can handle extreme conditions. The must live free though they really come to depend on the pack. They can sense danger and are very protective of their young. They have a voice and use it when needed. They teach us balance in our lives and can move though difficult terrain easily. The wolf teaches us to know who we are and to develop strength and confidence in where we are going.

You can count on them to lead you!

Hope this helps you are fortunate to have the wolf near.

Bright star, you know the horses are in my life almost every day now and as I watch them move I think of the effortlessness we are experiencing in our class. These are pure bred stallions so though they are young they are so strong in there power to just be.

The otter that¿s a new one here and so approiate for you at this time because otters are all about deep change there curiosity leads them to explore life constantly. They are always in the flow and moving with grace and poise. They remind us that everything is interesting if we just look deeper. They are relaxed and trusting of the natural element they live in. They love to laugh and play. They usually are floating on their back and looking up in the sky wondering what it would be like to fly, that my be why they choose you because you are flying now. They can also glide through the ups and downs of life which you are now having to do. They represent the nurturing energy that lives in us. They have to live in or close to water always. They always have something to say and if you listen you will find it is very deep conversation they wish to tell you because they do not show up often but when they do look out life is about to get very interesting. When they show up they are asking you to let go of worry and pain and trust your intuition. Be the JOY you see in them and the rest will take care of itself. Love you soul sista, the Ya Ya sisters ride again!

Woopie! I loved you answer. I did some deep meditating on your question for our polarity class. That otter really took me on a trip. In fact, I was soul traveling. I hope you enjoy my trip. what a class! Bali Hai. I was so excited to see us all sharing the same thought. Not really surprised though. Although, I truly belive in a physical reunion between us all, also. I can hardly wait to hear what you have to say monday!

* I've always needed to be near water, especially the ocean. My ex husband use to call me a seal. I was always swimming! Now, I only have a shower to stand up in but, I imagine it's a water fall, and that helps!*

* I believe the otter truly had something to say. He said it well and I'm listening.*

* The messages and power of animal spirits are the most powerful to me of all ways of learning, growing, and feeling Gods love. When I do the crystal readings animals are what usually come to the fore. During Soul flights and retrievals the same thing.*

* I love it! *

* Isn't it wonderful that we are all so connected? How each one brings their own gift and balance? Words cannot express how I feel about it. Like a dream come true!*

* Love Bobbie Bright Star*

Birds and butterflies are who I see and hear but there is always the annoying sound of a dog in the distance, constant barking for hours on end.

Birds are the messanger's. Butterflies signal transformation. Dogs denote loyalty. Companionship a help mate. Someone to stay by your side. Barking to get your attention. A warning. Feed yourself. Make sure you are full and strong so when you fly with new found wings (birds) to your destination, you have the strength to complete the trip.

* Lap up clean emotional water, so when you sprout your new butterfly wings, they are full of brilliant color and strength so, they too may take you all the way across the distance you must travel.*

* Listen to those barks and whines. Behind them are also tail wags and belly rubs!*
