Sarah Palin

Hi Oprah...I love and respect you...however....to interview Sarah Palin only gives her legitimacy. She has no respect for the democratic process that Barak Obama is working to put forth. I'm concerned your interview will empower her to go forward in her negative manor. Concerned viewer.

Thanks for your posting MSSSALLY. I, too, am disappointed and saddened that Oprah has sold out and is giving Palin a platform to spread her outlandish lies (Death panels?) and unAmerican rhetoric. I will not watch and I doubt if I will be able to watch Oprah in the future. I have been an Oprah fan since graduate school but this is too much.

I don't understand what country the posted reply gals are from. I thought this was the USA and we had freedom of speech! I also believe OPRAH can have whoever she wants on HER program. I don't care for many of her guests but I don't make an issue of it and say I no longer can watch OPRAH again. How trite and sad!!!

Please don't boycott Oprah...Oprah knows what she is doing and will be able to handle Palin. Should be very entertaining to watch Palin

squirm.

Its funny...Palin epitomizes everything Oprah has preached about over the years! Be true to yourself, dont lose yourself or let yourself go because you have children, find a man who is a partner not someone who you need to complete yourself or want to change, believe in something greater than yourself and on and on...

I truely dont get what the problem is...seriously!!

<![endif]-->Personally, I'm disappointed that Sarah agreed to go on Oprah's show.

Sarah doesn't need to be on Oprah's show to boost her book sales..... Her book shot to number one within a day or two of the announcement it would be released on November 17. But I can understand why Oprah would like Sarah to be a guest..... Oprah's ratings will go through the roof.

Oprah needs Sarah more than Sarah needs Oprah.

The problem as I see it is that Sarah Palin clearly has some form of mental illness and needs treatment. I am not saying this because of her beliefs (despite these being scattered, unfounded and confused) but because of how she presents her information when she speaks, which is scattered, unfounded and confused. She seems to be unaware of the use of punctuation and rambles on incessantly (usually losing her point and the question asked in the process), until eventually she runs out of steam or breath or is too lost and confused to continue. Sarah Palin does not in any way epitomize anything Oprah has tried to teach or preach. She is not true to herself. She can't even hold a job for any length of time. She lacks focus and concentration and has no clear idea of anything she blabbers on about. And that's the point, she blabbers. This book she is now promoting was not even written by her. Clearly someone else did the writing. My sympathies to the editors and writers on this one.

I agree with msssally about Palin. Someone who said Obama "pals around with terrorists". She's very uneducated about anything, esp. politics. Give me a break! I have cancelled my magazine subscription, and will no longer watch the show.

What are you all so afraid of? If Sarah Palin is mentally ill, as one poster called her ,and is the idiot you all say she is, then you would be delighted to see Oprah just rip her apart. The people most demonized by the left are the people most feared by the left, and those are the ones I want to hear from. We independent conservatives are looking for individuals who are loyal to the country and not their political party.

Congrats to Oprah for realizing it will be a ratings boost for the show and sell lots of books for Sarah Palin. I think Oprah can survive most of you not watching for one day.

I'm agreeing with 'skatchis'. Oprah, first of all, can do what she wants. Secondly, she brought politics into her show when she had Obama on and then went on to have the celebration party after the election, on air, afterward, etc. I disagree with her politics, but I still LOVE HER!

What kills me about "liberals" is how un-liberal they are. Look at all these biased posts against Palin! seriously, where are your open minds?

I too am very disappointed and will no longer be watching her program. Giving this woman air time is a travesty. I thought Oprah was more intelligent than this.

Thank you for posting MISSMMSC...I couldn't agree more with your posting. Oprah has "sold out" once again. I realize she wanted to look as though she is "impartial" to the "broad " (and that is being kind) because of her friendship with the Obamas. However, not every person who writes a book is not worthy of being booked on your show. Frankly Oprah's shows this season have been along the lines of "Dr. Phil"..."dumbing down" to the citizens of this country. I have watched maybe one show this season and honestly don't miss it. It saddens me that Oprah has stooped to a new all-time low.

I know that these postings are screened first...I doubt that it will make it online but I figured if Oprah is a big proponent of free speech then I am going to express my point of view too!

mssally,

Can I ask what legitimacy you are talking about as far as Sarah Palin? I believe her book is about what happened during her run as Vice President with John McCain. People who are interested in hearing her story and experiences during that time will watch and those that aren't interested will not watch. I watch shows where I disagree with people's views, and believe me, your side is the most negative I have ever heard. I usually watch shows that have both sides, but I guess there are some who just want to hear one side and silence the other. I always worry about people who only listen to one side because, obviously they never have all the knowledge needed to make an informed decision or opinion. It's still a free country for all, at least for a little while longer.

Oprah is not going to get into Sarah Palin's idealogy or political opinions because Oprah doesn't care about that. Oprah wants the dirt and will try to get her to reveal something during her interview because it's the first interview she's doing. I have a feeling that nothing will be revealed and she will save that for the media that treated her fairly during the election. Relax, I'm sure the people who fear Sarah Palin will still fear her after the interview. Although, I have to say, we get more democrats and independents joining our cause for less government every day, but it's not due to Sarah Palin, it's due to the job Obama is doing. Just lock up the little children on Monday and keep them away from the TV, and you'll be fine. If you love the Oprah show and agree with the guests she has on and her opnions, there is no reason to stop watching because of this one harmless interview.
