Hello All,

About four years ago I worked out 6 days a week, ate healthy and was 116lbs. It took several years of hard work to get to that point. I was very proud of my accomplishment having been a chubby kid all my life. During the last four years my body started to give out on me. I had a series of undiagnosed problems: fatigue, muscle pains, shortness of breath and severe abdominal pains ect. I thought, "what is wrong with me? I am doing all the right things..." Finally after many doctors visits and tests I have been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, Celiacs Disease and to top it off a little Anxiety. Who wouldn't have a little anxiety after all that. Over the past 4 years and though this process I have gained about 60-65 pounds. So, my question is how do I loose weight with all of these problems? I am feeling so overwhelmed because on one side the doctors are telling me I have to loose weight and on the other they want to put me on drugs that cause weight gain. Oh, and the doctors really haven't been much help in trying to figure out a medical plan for me so, I have been left to deal with it on my own. Help!

I know exactly how you feel. I have Multiple Sclerosis and can stand, but can't walk to the corner. I have limited exercise ability so it is hard for me to stay fit when I'm sitting all the time. Like you said, the medications do a number on your weight also. Recently I had surgery for skin cancer on my nose, and chest. I was so depressed after that I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted. I did that for about four months and when I started to feel tired all the time and having problems with my kness, I decided to get back on the healthy track. I weighed myself and couldn't believe I went from 145 lbs. to 175 lbs. in just a couple of months. I started eating healthy on Tuesday and even though I can't exercise alot, I do what I can from a sitting position and I have been feeling so much better the past couple of days. I can already see that I have more energy just by eating healthy. The greasy fried foods are definitely an energy robber for me. Don't listen to the doctors. You have to find something that works for you. Join Weight Watchers, go to Curves and work-out a little, and just have a positive attitude. Life is hard, I've had MS since I was 25 and now I'm 50. Watch Oprah's "Falling off the wagon segment". it gave me a jumpstart to getting back on the wagon. Also watch Biggest Loser, because if they can do it anyone can.

Good Luck

Cathy

Life is hard, but just think, it can't rain every day.
