God bless the USA

Posted on Jul 4, 2009 12:48 PM

Of course today is the 4Th of July and by chance as I started my day , the song " God bless the USA " was playing by Lee Greenwood , which is a very moving song .

Their is something powerful about a thankful heart , Lee Greenwood sings , If tomorrow all the things were gone , I'd worked for all my life.

And I had to start again , with just my children and my wife . He then sings I would thank my lucky stars , cause the flag still stand for freedom , and they can't take that away .

And He goes on and says, He's proud to be an American and that He will not forget the men who died , who gave that right to me .

And that He would gladly stand up , and defend her still today , because He loves this land , God bless the USA .

I think sometimes , we have too much in this country , always looking at what we don't have , and don't appreciate what we do have .

We have people like Swindler Bernard Madoff , who had a great Job , that many people would give their eye teeth to have , yet , that was not enough ; He has to take 50 billion dollars from Hard working Americans , so He can live like a King .

*And you know , it not just Him , It's all of us we all are unthankful , and greedy , always not happy with what God has given us . *

We cut other Americans off on the high way , and ride their tails because they are going too slow , we get angry at others because they pull in the parking spot before us , we wine and complain because we are lonely , any number of a million of things , we complain about , because we don't have this or that .

It seems to be the American way , not to be thankful , for what you have today , but always wanting more .

As I visited Washington DC last year before the Economic melt down , when people we doing fine , I watched the rich , step over the homeless , as if they were trash , as they drove home in their 40,000 dollars cars , and their 500,000 dollar houses , and could not even take the time to give a homeless person a few dollars , as they drank their 3 dollar cappachinos .

I think we want too much . It makes me very unhappy at people who get mad at the Mexicans , as they leave their families to make few dollars in this country , to send home to their wife's and kids .

We see people of this county protesting , and treating them like dogs , telling them to get out of our county .

When did we get so selfish ?

I think they don't need to deport them , but the government should make it mandatory that each of us as Americans , is deported out of this country for one month of our life , so we can see how people in 3rd world country's live .

Then maybe we would be thankful for what we have , and be kinder to each other , and strangers who come to this country .

And be thankful to live in a country that is Blessed by God .

God will bless the USA , but will be be thankful for what we have and bless each other .

You can't bless another , not unless you are thankful for what you have .

Hi David,

Why just God Bless the USA? It is a nation of so many that came to it for various reasons....made up of people who were outcasts or renegades, trouble makers, religious fanatics, perverts, prisoners, that were then cast out to the Americas....just like we have seen in done in Australia in the past decades. So, what are we proud of? You have mentioned it.....but they have more than 500,000 dollar houses, more than 40,000 dollar cars...that is a pittance by today's standards. The US shows us and sets the standards of those who came there without a sense of self worth, working up to an identity and image that is now wanted around the world....and we as a populace are paying the price for the image we have created. The third world countries are now taking the upper hand as we go down.

We showed them what is important for now. If we go back, China was the leader at one time, US was a wilderness....and now it is going full circle again with materialism lacking spiritualism...we are now coming back to our origins...some will and some won't. It is our choice to recognize the insanity of it all, that which we have created and played into as long as the going was good. J.

Davidsflag,

Are you from this country ? USA ?

Eh, I guess you have noticed that this is an international message board :-)

But since today it happens to be independence day in the USA.

May G-d bless the USA!

And the rest of the World for that matter.

Shalom, Rina

The reason I am asking if you are from USA , on the 4th of July , I find it amazing and Amercian would focus on only the negative , even making up and painting a piture that is not true , to some degree about his or her country .

Where are you coming from....negative....that is your mind-set, not mine. I worked in LA as a Psychiatric Social Worker, lived there and was part of the Watts Riots, when you were doing what? Since then, I have been privileged to live and work in many countries. J.

I am aware this is a international board , since Oprah is seen in hundreds of other countrys . She is one popular Woman .

That is why I was asking Sensor 108 , where she was from , so I could get a feel of her particular perspective .

I am just asking if you are a American citizen , it's a yes or no question .

If you are not comfortable answering , that is OK also .

David,

I must express my disgust at the Bush administrations behavior while Dubya was in office. Our government has behaved deplorably all over the world and it amazes me every day that passes and we have not been attacked again. I'm not at all saying that people who died on 9/11 deserved to die. I'm saying that our government let them die and that is the truth. Bush had all the information he needed to do something about the attacks but he did nothing but vacation for months and that is true.

What gives me hope, faith, and trust in our country is no longer our government. Indeed, I believe the entire infrastructure of our country my collapse by the time it's all said and done--I may be a citizen of Mexico and not the United States. No, David, I place my hope, faith, and trust in the citizens of this country.

Yes, we are going through hard times. But I am grateful every day that goes by when I don't have to flee the "village" I call my home and run for my life while my son and daughter are forcibly "taken" and "drafted" into a militia bent on nothing but senseless violence. I live in an old, delapitated mobile home on about an acre of land. Nothing works like it should in my home because I have been too poor and sick to maintain it. Yet I am blessed.

We are all blessed to live where we live, together, on this big old rock that's racing through the Great Universe even as I type this.

We, the people, are the salvation of the country.

God bless us all, wherever we live.

You are loved by me.

Arwen

Hi Davidsflag,

What do we think of the present moment?

We are against it. It should be a lot better than it is. Get me to the future fast.

That is what the dissatisfaction machine in the head likes to say.

Where is the freedom from the dissatisfaction machine in the head?

Acceptance that the present moment is already the way that it already is. Then surrender ourselves to being the change that we want to see.

By just observing what is, and knowing ourselves as non-condeminng awareness, we are loving what is we get to have an attitude of gratitude instead of dissatisfaction.

Blessings, Student99 :)

Are you playing around with yourself at this time......how can you ask me this question, if you have truly read and understood, not but in just this thread but in others, what I have written? Go, back and read again. If you are familiar with US rules and laws, then to do what I have done, to have had the education I have had, should answer your question. Maybe, because I was there and involved in the 60's and you were not explains your quandary. Was at the democratic convention in Buffalo, NY...worked for them. Then, was there for the Republican....both parties, close up. Martin Luther King....close up. Now, what? Any more proof, David........I am a citizen of the world, have always been...no flag! J.

Hi Arwen,

I place my hope, faith, and trust in the citizens of this country.

I completely agree here. Of course the citizens are the actual 'body' of any country. Not the administration. I feel it is very important to recognize that as you did.

I think it might seize war to exist if administrations would come to this conclusion as well. Because when we do not hold administrations for the citizens of a country we would not decide to start wars for the reasons we do now.

Shalom, Rina

.." I think they don't need to deport them , but the government should make it mandatory that each of us as Americans , is deported out of this country for one month of our life , so we can see how people in 3rd world country's live ...

You are maybe onto something big here, since the jails not all, but in some States are full and over crowded ,

maintained by Taxpayers $$$$$sss, costing the country so much ,.....

Shipping them overseas ,where the cost of living is lower and labor is real labor.would be a solution ..

starting with setting as the example to first send the Corrupt government people and White color workers..

then emptying all the jails by shiploads,, to those countries , to dig for precious metal and stones

building their own place to stay ,learn to grow their own food by the natives they just invaded and walked over

and maybe make it a TnKxsgiving Harvest .. ...How would you think America will look then?

.Wait isn't that how,...it happened here ,how some arrived here ? lol ...So this idea is of the Old.lol..

See..... the actual fact is .... All Countries are blessed by God ..

For God doesnot shower his blessings according to man made boundaries of Land.

The Earth ,as the sky and the sun in the Sky ,,as the Ocean and the air ,as the space

and the Ether ,.......as LIFE .. ALL are gifted FREE .... God's FREE GIFTs to us ..

and for that we all should be grateful,..... unconditionally...

Happy 4 TH.......with gratitude....

All of that does not answer my simple question , I don't have time to read every one's post , I wish I did , but I don't .

I guess you don't want to answer the question , of what country you are a citizen of , is OK .

But working for this or that , does not make you anything but a employee .

Some employees hate the place they work , others love the place they work .

Working for someone , does not mean anything .

Where a person lives , show what they call home .

And if you reject this country , it's either not your home , and never was , or you are displeased with your Home , and have found another , which is not a bad thing .

At times I am proud of this country , but for the most part , I am disappointed .

I feel the same way about myself , at times I am proud of my choices , but for the most part I am disappointed .

But the past is the past , no one has a time machine to change it .

And really all the negatives , and your image about this country does not do any good , no one can change the past of their life , or a country's life .

It's understandable to feel this way , about a person or a country .

I think the proud remark , of the song of Lee Greenwood , rubbed you wrong , which is understandable , because most people focus on the negatives of others , and not the positives .

The bible says , Love does not remember Wrongs done .

Why ? Because remember Wrongs , kills Hope .

And if you Kill Hope , of a person or a nation learning from It's mistakes , and moving forward in the moment , you kill that person or country's future .

So , we sing songs of hope , that learn from our mistakes , and focus on the good , so that we can birth in the now , a good thing , for ourselves and others .

You are what lives inside of you , if you never forgive and forget , the past destorys the future .

That is why , God said , love does not remember wrongs done .

And God is the one who sets that standard , He forgives , and forgets our errors , then even blesses us , as we reach out to Him .

He set the example for all of us to live by .

Then you don't know your country the way you say or think you do.....all that I wrote you shows you where I am a citizen of. You have showed me in your reply, that you weren't or didn't want to hear or see where I come from...for one reason at this moment, and that is you are locked into your program.

You haven't had a 16 year old student in your class in an inner city school whose face was blown off because the shooter thought he belonged to a gang....you haven't had your mother killed for 5 dollars by a man who worked as a part timer and wanted to buy beer. So, much of what you have written about yourself and your experiences in your life with blacks, as well as your talks with God and the proof thereof.....pale with others who are too humble or don't feel the need to beat their drum in hopes of hearing an echo. You have had your experiences, and so have others....you sometimes bring out the crying rag....now I am direct, David....you think you have the answers or are near to knowing....think again. We are all little pieces to the puzzle. Yankee Doodle comes to mind. Best to you and your family.....J.
