Dear Dr. Oz,
Where are these longevity clinics? I would like to make an appointment.
We live in Tucson, AZ, but I would like your opinion on the top three clinics in this field.
Thanks
EJ

I, too, am trying to find out what the green capsules are. I listened very closely and still could not understand what Dr. Oz said. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Carol

Hey, I love Oprah and I liked the show as I'm always interested in such stuff but don't see much of it as a real-world interest for me.

Like peepsman23, I don't want to live to 150 as I'm just an average joe whose insurance will find a thousand ways not to provide me with coverage since I'm not rich and/or famous. I've already got a doctor that won't listen to me because he's already determined (without any actual tests) that my entire problem is menopause. And I thought those days were over.

I'm also concerned about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments as it is a well known fact that oxygen, which keeps us alive, is also the same thing that ages us and will kill us. My aunt ended up on 24 hour oxygen and while removing it meant she could no longer breath, the doctors were in full agreement that it was exactly what was shortening her life. It was a hard and miserable death. I find it all confusing. I'm just plain nervous about the infrared stuff.

I don't understand ajaellen thoughts, "If people are living longer that means they are healthier!!" My grandmother was housebound by the age of 80 and laid in bed and lingered for five years before dying at the age of 94. My mother was active until one week before her death at age 73 caused by small cell carcanoma (sp? -- cancer) Who was healthier? Who had a better quality of life? Which is more important? I'd gladly give up seven years of live (or even more) to die on my feet rather than lingering in bed.

I also agree with many others that a longer living population isn't healthy for the planet or for future generations. A longer life doesn't necessarily mean a more contributing life either however it does give more time to be selfish which we manage to prove all the time that we are.

230 posts later psharon1 said, "I am shocked no one has addressed the financial side of living too long. It is irresponsible to ignore this!" Uh .... guess you'd have to actually read the prior posts to know how many reponsible people have already commented on this.

Other Thoughts:
That apple eater better at least home compost his apple trash.
Why do we have teeth for eating meat if we are supposed to be vegetarians?
Why is the thought of dying still so fearful when everybody does it?
Yea ... I'm really interested in a "no flour, no sugar" cake. What's the point?
Drug companies are not your friends.
How many people do doctors and hospitals kill everyday? How about working on that problem?
Ya know, it would be in the best interest of the government to keep us alive (and working) forever. :-) $$$$

A HUGE word of caution .... everything you eat and breath has an effect on your individual body. As much as the drug companies (and other so-called health experts) want the ONE magic pill for all of us it will simply never exist. Actually, Dr. Oz did make a similar statement about the individuality of a person but I suspect the majority of people never hear such statements. Always do research and gather many opinions before making your decision. Nobody will ever care more about your health than yourself.

People are free to aim for whatever they wish. I'm all for advancements that help people increase the quality of their lives or heals body parts damaged too early in life but my concern is that when my time comes will you keep me out of pain and not insist that I be hooked up to machines because a heartbeat is somehow more precious than my desire to go with dignity?

I would really like to get the recipe for Mr. Murdock's juice of 15 different fruits and vegis. Any way this can be obtained? Also, is there anyway to learn more detail about his daily diet...any carbs? how much & what kind of protein? I found it all very interesting. Thank you.

Google is not my friend. And thanks for your snotty reply. :(

I missed the first 5 minutes of the show. It's too much trouble for people who saw the first few minutes to answer a question?

That's a sad commentary on our society. A really sad and disturbing commentary.

Hello, first thank you for this segment & keeping us informed. However, can an avg paid American can really afford tissue regeneration treatment? Also, are insurance companie willing to pay? In ref to the O2 compression chamber, again, who can afford this? Why not just practice Yog, Pranayam in particular which is free & give the same benefits in the comfort of your home + calmer mind. To learn more on the technique of Pranayam, check out "Patanjali Yog Peeth -- Swami Ramdev Baba". Thank you. v/r Trupti

I'd love to live to 150 or even more as long as my mind and body were functional. There is so much to do and see in this world that I can't imagine ever being tired of it. I do believe in an afterlife, but Planet Earth is quite fascinating and I'm enjoying my visit, even if it isn't always sunshine and roses.

i am in a similar situation and i know how helpless you feel. i feel grateful for the life that i have had and for the people who have loved me. some have even less than we have and some have had no life at all. i pray you will find peace. i feel you will give back for what you have been given.

The segment on tissue regeneration was wonderful! My sister's bladder and the tube from the kidney to bladder were damaged by radiation for cancer years ago. Since then she's had so many surgeries for stints. They have to be replaced every two months! Lots of pain and lots of money. Her urologist in Greensboro, NC, says she's at the top of the list once the FDA approves growing and implanting new bladders. I did a web search and found that a woman has had one of these bladders implanted in a clinical trial.

My point is that it's not just about life extension. It's about fixing people who are sick and/or hurting! My sister isn't going to live longer if she gets a new bladder. That man whose finger regrew isn't going to live longer either. But their quality of life will increase. And the insurance company will save money on my sister because she won't need surgeries every two months!

I just bought a HEALTH MATE Sauna. They have been in business since 1979 and have a lifetime warranty on their sauna, heaters included. The price for a 3 person was just under 2,500. Have had it for about a month and so far I really enjoy it. I noticed a difference in my skin the first use. So soft, and my body feels better too. I don't ache and seem to sleep better. And yes I did notice weight loss. I will probably live in it over the winter since it is so cheap to operate too! No I don't work for the company, just really like it and feel they have a great product and stand behind it. (I also love my Vita-Mix too!) Wish Dr. Oz would endorse them with his green drink, you would get more nutrition out of it if he does?
