It is dangerous to dye your eyebrows, but from my understanding, It's because of the possibility of getting the dye into your eyes. I've been dyeing my eyebrows for years. Not because of grey, but because I have very, very light eyebrows. So light that you can't tell that I have eyebrows at all. So I buy a very inexpensive hair dye that is just a shade or two darker than my hair. You just need to be very careful not to get it in your eyes!!! PLEASE BE SAFE and let me know if you decide to go ahead with it.

I am a little afraid of using the dye.

Why is it that it's not safe to dye, but it's safe to lighten them?

I had mine dye about 6 months ago, they really look great,went alittle dark shade ,I am blonde,with the grey.Happy I had them done

I've tired some eye pencils and they're not too awful.

The highlights have helped. Well, at least they distract MY EYE from looking at the grey eyebrows.

I too have dyed my eyebrows, but it is a hassle! I discovered a great product from Laura Geller. It is a brow tint that goes on like mascara. It works! I have 50% grey eyebrows and this covers great. It washes off when you remove your makeup. I no longer dye my eyebrows. I get it at Sephora online. I think you can also get it at QVC or HSN, whichever one sales Laura Geller.

please, please, please do not use hair color dye on your eyebrows; it contains too many harsh chemicals and could do serious damage to the skin surrounding your eyes. If you have extremely sensitive skin, your eyes could be damaged or swollen for weeks (I've seen this happen). You should be able to find a vegetable dye for your eyebrows/eyelashes in any beauty supply store. If you don't see it, ask. The color should last for 6-8 weeks. Same is true for lightening your brows, though I would recommend going to a professional.

Also, the brow tamer by Laura Geller is available in many stores, or you can find it online. Remember though it only lasts for one-two days.

Mine are greying and have significantly thinned. When I sweat or swim, my pencil/powder washes off. Has anyone tried/had good luck with permanent cosmetic eyebrow enhancement (tatooing)?

I like 2 products: Lancome Brow Expert wand (looks like mascara purchased at Macy's) and Sephora Lash and Eyebrow Mascara (purchased online).

If you want to dye them use eyelash dye as it won't make you blind if you accidentally get it in your eyes - never use hair dye.

If you use a taupe pencil, a little bit of taupe shadow and and eyebrow gel it should stick on pretty well. Don't use dark brown brow pencils or shadow as they're too dark for most people.

I discovered that if I color my hair with Clairol Natural Dark Neutral Blonde #106A that it helps my eyebrows blend in more. The highlights were too bright, but this is just perfect. I've been dyeing and highlighting my hair the wrong colors all this time. I think that as my gray increases I can go lighter as long as I stay in the "neutral" tones. I always used warm tones, I didn't know about neutral tones. Ha! I'm finally happy! (for now)
