Why am I not losing weight???? On the Fat Flush Plan

Posted on May 23, 2009 3:46 PM

I am 43 years old, 5'8. I weigh 195 lbs and would like to lose about 40 lbs. I started the Fat Flush Plan 3 weeks ago. I eat lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies only, I eat about 1,200 calories per day. I drink 96-120 oz of water per day and exercise about 3 days a week. I gave up sugar, dairy, carbs, sodas, caffeine, alcohol, and only using a little salt. I have not cheated once and I am very proud of myself, but I am getting very frustrated. I lost 7 lbs in the first week, then gained back 2 lbs the second week and haven't lost any the third week. I haven't given up and won't, but I am very confused at why I haven't lost anymore weight. Does anyone have any advice or had anything similar?

You may need to increase your calories, believe it or not. How long do you follow this strict diet plan? It seems it would be healthier to add some whole grains and healthy fats to have more a a healthy, balanced diet. Your body needs more feul since you are increasing your exercise. Also, as you increase muscle mass, while losing fat, you may not lose actual weight, but you should notice a change in how your clothes fit and a loss in inches. Good luck!!

I'm sorry that you are confused. It is so frustrating to do "Everything" you are told by the specialists, and then have it fail. I've "Been there, done that!" As a result of listening to all the "current" health theory's and following the advise of my doctors, I gained 60 pounds, was severely depressed and had so may issues like unable to sleep between 1-4 am, low thyroid, itching, mood swings, difficult periods, hot flashes, headaches, painful joints, diarrhea/acid reflux, dizzyness, incontinence, severe nickel allery, low energy, blurred vision, dry skin, and on and on.

The answer is so simple, it almost seemed impossible to me. Your nutrients are out of balance in your body. Each nutrient is responsible for many bodily functions. For example, if you eat a lot of sodium rich foods, you must compensate with additional potassium or your body will have an imbalance. If you have too high of calcium, then you need additional magnesium. Calcium causes muscles to contract, like the heart, magnesium causes the muscles to relax. So if your blood calcium level is in the upper 1/3rd range of normal, then you will have high blood pressure if you do not match that elevated calcium with magnesium. If you leave the calcium high without magnesium, you will have incontenince and/or diarrhea or kidney stones since the body is trying to re-balance the calcium/magnesium ratios in the blood by sending the extra calcium out of your kidneys and intestines. If your electrolytes are not accurately balanced, you will die!

This is true of EVERY mineral in the body. It must be balanced with it's pair! Doctors do not study nutrition, thus they do not understand how the body functions with minerals and vitamins. The only ones they know are calcium for bones, iron for blood and vitamin B12 for energy. You can asses your mineral levels by having a hair analysis run. The Mayo clinic does this as well as many other labs in the country. You do however, need a certified person to intrepret the results, as they are not direct readings. Ratios must be calculated to determine your deficiencies as well as excesses.

The body uses the liver to filter all the mineral imbalances, horomone imbalances, as well as all the toxins you are exposed to such as alcohol or medications. So it always suffers when you are out of balance. When the liver is not working well, it does not process fat, protein or carbohydrates properly, and you can not loose weight unless you starve, and that only increases the livers stress, instead of making it function better. You must supply the liver with what it needs to function normally and heal itself: SAM-e, alpha lipoic acid, magnesium, zinc, selenium, the B-complex vitamins and vitamin C and Vitamin D. You can not take these in a multi as you will be blocking the absorption of zinc and magnesium with many other competing minerals and vitamins. It is best to take the B-complex, alpha lipoic acid, SAM-e, C and D at breakfast. Then take the zinc and magnesium at bedtime, which promotes sleep anyway. Take the selenium in the middle of the day. Very gradually increase the selenium or you will cause skin breakouts, which can be painful, since the body is throwing off the toxins through the lymphatic system.

Of course modern medicine can help with so many conditions by regulating your improper balances for you with expensive medications. You can also block absorption of nutrients with high fiber, but in my case, high fiber was adding even higher copper to my already high copper status. You can increase absorption of missing nutrients with probiotics and enzymes.

But why not let the body do it like God created it to function, with proper ratios of vitamins and minerals? Seems to me it is like trying to drive your car across the US without gasoline and oil. Of course you could push the car, or have someone take their horse and pull you, but wouldn't it be just so much better to put the correct ingredients, in the proper ratios into the engine and just drive smoothly to where you want to go!

I'm now 52 years old. I've lost all the weight, without trying. I am a size 4. I eat sugar, drink whole mile and eat grass fed beef and butter just like my thin grandparents did. I've got ab muscles and arm muscles without doing sit ups or weight lifting, just normal housecleaning and yard work. My doctor has cut my thyroid medication down by 2/3rds as it is functioning much better and I honestly do not have ANY medical problems that I had before. I don't even have the nickel allery since it never was an allergy. It was just too much nickel in my body as a result of too much copper and not enough iron or zinc.

Honestly, if you fix the imbalances, you will feel wonderful and look it too!

Lover dog , This sounds so simple. How do you find someone to do the test and read the results. What kind of Dr or clinic would do this?

How do you find a clinic to do the test and interpret it. I had to read you reply twice to follow it. As simple as it is... how can I get it done.

I too am looking for the answer. I am 45, 5'5 and about 177 lbs. My theory is that I may be expeierencing pre-menapause symtoms. Maybe you are starting to go through this also and your body is out of whack!! Maybe someone has advice on this for us. Keep up the work and diet.
