The Judge

Posted on May 10, 2009 1:54 PM

The whole courtroom was shocked to hear the name of the accused announced by the baliff. It is the judges son and he had been charged with drunken and reckless driving. The judge hopes his son is innocent. He loves his son with all of his heart. But if the evidence proves his guilt, he as the judge is bound to enforce and uphold the law. If he randomly chose to let lawbreakers go, he would be an unjust and corrupt judge. The law in this case states that if found guilty there is a minimum of a $5,000 fine or 9 months in jail.

As the evidence is presented, the heart of the judge sinks further with every detail that gives ironclad proof of his son's guilt. Turning to his son the judge asks him if he has anything to say for himself.

"Well dad I know that I am guilty but I only drove like that this one time and you know that I am basically a good person. I mean I help those in need, I give to charity, I treat my family right and I have always supported them and kept a job. I am hoping that you can just let me go this one time, I will never do anything wrong again. Besides there are people out there that do far worse things then I have done. Please let me go."

The judge listens to his son but he knows that good works do not cancel out bad works. He also must have a standard to be a judge and that standard cannot be to other people. It must be what is written in the law. The law has been broken and as a good and just judge, he is bound by the law to punish those that break it. But in this case he is torn by the great love he has for his son.

Turning again to his son he tells him, "I am sorry son I love you, but as much as I would like to let you go I am bound by the law. The minimum punishment for this crime is a $5,000 fine or 9 months in jail."

The son with tears running down his cheeks pleads with his father (the judge), "but I do not have that much money and cannot bear the thought of going to jail. Is there any way to avoid it."

The judge stands up and takes off his robe and steps down to the son's level. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out $5,000 and offers it to his son. The son is surprised and hesitates for a moment but he realizes that the only way he can go free is to accept the gift his father is offering him. As soon as the fine is paid he can go free.

God is in a similar situation with us. He is caught in the middle of His own laws requirement for justice and righteousness and his immense love for us. His law requires sin to be punished but His love wants to set us free. The only way that God can remain righteous and just and also let us go free is if someone else will voluntarily take our punishment, be our substitute. The volunteer must be sinless so that the law will not have any just reason to punish Him. This way the punishment He receives can be credited to us. Since none of us are sinless, God came down to our level to save us through his sinless Son. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh freely offered himself as the perfect sinless substitute. His payment fully satisfied the requirement of the law and made the only way for us to be set free.

This is why Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by Me." John 14:6

If you think that you are a good person before God and have nothing to fear on judgment day it is because you are using other people to judge your own goodness, For example: Hitler was far worse than most of us. The problem with this thinking is that the Bible tells us God uses His perfect standard to judge us, not other people, and we all fall short. Romans 3:23. You can see where you stand by looking at the 10 commandments. Have you ever lied, stolen, used Gods name in vain? His perfect justice extends all the way to liars who will need to pay for their own sins for eternity if they refuse to accept the payment that Jesus has made on their behalf.

Just like the judges son must use his free will to accept the $5,000 payment before he can benefit from it. We too must accept the gift of grace that God is offering us. He desires to save you or He would have never sent His son. I encourage you to accept His gift of grace today.

Repent and place your faith in Christ now!!! John 3:16-18

Your basic premise is wrong. There is NO JUDGE. There is NO JUDGEMENT, EVER!

There is ONLY love. Your soul is perfect, created in perfection and love. You exist in perfection.

The world here is a stage, a play, an illusion.

There is never any need for "salvation, repentence, etc.

When you have a higher awareness, ( ask for it, it's free), you no longer NEED religions, dogmas, beliefs, governments, etc.

You return to your natural state of being a free and sovreign Being.

Why do we again need to be preached at? For what reason? It's been overdone here. We need to move beyonf this form of thinking.

Hey sephora1,

Show me your evidence and I will show you the mountains of evidence I have. My faith is based on fact, then faith and then feelings. Yours is just the opposite except there is no fact. If you continue to live by feelings you my as well write destroyed across your life.

It never has and never will be about religion. iT IS ABOUT YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY.

Wake up and look at the facts. There will be a day of judgement for all those that reject God offer to pay for your sins.

The cross is where Gods Mercy met Gods wrath and Gods Mercy won for those that accept it.

So, you base everything on your MIND? "Fact" varies with who states it. The heart, existing in unconditional love never varies, it is constant and true and enduring throughout time.

One who sticks to facts is afraid. Afraid of who they are and their future. When you are in the state of love, there is no fear. Because at that point you are free and sovreign to make all your own decisions with assurance. You are connected to the Oneness, to Love.

My eternal destiny is Love, not a fear that the day of judgement will crash down on me and Oh! My God, I am doomed! No, that scenario does not exist. I am eternally ONE with the Oneness, with Love and guess what, YOU ARE TOO, you just don't remember yet.

BTW, I have woken up. You can too, ask for a higher state of awareness and to FEEL LOVE. It's all around, it permeates all of life. To deny this for facts is what I would consider a sin.

No. There is no "wrath", only love. You are painting love with a brush of darkness intended to instill guilt and fear and control.

Our souls know no guilt, fear, limitation. They are free and sovreign and exist always in unconditional love. It is only here, in a state of low awareness, that one cannot see the truth of one's soul easily. One is looking through a glass, darkly. You are seeing a distortion of truth here and beliefs like what you stated, only reinforce that distortion.

Walk into love with your heart fully open and embrace the wondrous changes it makes. Your world will sparkle with joy, light and love and life will be worth living.

Your favorite quote is so appropriate, Some things are true if you believe them or not. You are right the truth is the truth and God left us His Word as more evidence of Him. Look at the evidence and stop trusting your feelings. I know they have been wrong many times because everyones have.

Show me your evidence for what you believe. All of us have feelings even those that blow themselves up for god. They are very sincere like you but show me the evidence.

No need to show you any evidence, because the only evidence that you need is in your heart....LOVE. Open up to that reasure and see what happens. Step out of the fear that is keeping you bound to a book, a religion, etc. Step into Love, my dear. Step out of your fear.

If you are wrong and the Bible is right you have a big problem on your day of judgement. If your right I have nothing to worry about.

The evidence you seek lays within your heart..some things are seen with the eyes, but true love for another being is seen thru the heart. Surely you have seen a childs smile and it may have warmed the cockles of your heart, no? That is all the evidence you need. Those that blow themselves up for God, no longer see thru their heart..it is closed.

Much Love

Hello mikenbea, I am moved by this impassioned call to repentance and I stand in agreement with you that the Word of God will open blind eyes and deaf ears.

THE TIME TO REPENT AND BE SAVED IS NOW!

I might have asked you before? Are you Evangelical?

Most people will not come to Christ because they are sinners. Nor did Jesus himself tell people they are all sinners and they need him.

Do you know how I truly found the healing power of Jesus? I believed.

Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?

See, in the previous scripture...........this is how a person will feel...........When someone knows "God's kindness".
