So, I've recently changed my life, two months ago I started working out and changed my diet. I don't eat bad anymore (like fast food) and I work out for an hour every day. I've started at 200 pounds (OMG i can't believe I just wrote that!) but after two months and I've only lost five pounds. Is this normal?? I feel like I'm working really hard but I don't understand why it is that I'm not losing the weight! Help me!

Hello! Well, part of it could be you are working out "too" much. Yeah, sound crazy, but it's true. Your body needs time to heal and rest after a work-out. Perhaps cut down to 4-5 days a week, make sure you are doing plenty of cardio. As women especially that's very important to weight loss. Also - THINK POWER FOODS - and snack on them regularly! Obviously, do not turn them into meals, but good snacks are a cup of cauliflower, handful of walnuts/almonds, half of an avacado, even just eating a package of tuna. Keep those in mind. Hell, eating an apple puts you at negative 10-15 calories. Why? Well, eating the calories in an apple, the way your body digests it, causes you to burn more calories than you took in! Also - they are a great powerfood due to fiber, fiber, fiber. One of my favourite kinds of apple is Johnathan Apples. Yum! Those and Fiji or Granny Smith.

Also - if you are completely obsessed/stressed about losing the weight and that's your focus - try just relaxing and doing more fun things. We just bought a giant trampoline for the kids, however, that thing has been my best friend! Hehe. It feels like fun and not working out and without paying attention or realizing it, my pants fit differently. By differently, I mean LOOSER! Try not weighing yourself too often. Set a certain day every one-two weeks to record your weight. You'll be surprised.

Anyways, I really hope this helped you in some way! OH! I almost forgot to mention. Stretching is amazingly healthy for you. Try some yoga, or just basic stretches even. A great book that helped me was, "Stretching Anatomy," by Arnold G. Nelson, Juoko Kokkonen, and Jason M. McAlexander. You can really formulate a stretching routine for three days a week based on what's best for you. Ok, best of luck to you!

Hey~

Have you been eating regularly without starving yourself? It sounds like your body is in starvation mode. Make sure you

eat good healthy food all day long. The less processing to your food the better!

Good luck!

Hi there ,

Please do not get discouraged . The weight will come off , get rid of that scale and start to go by how you feel and
how your clothes are fitting . Eating healthy doesn't just mean no fast food , it means getting rid of refined and
processed food and eating more protein , vegtables, fruits and healthy foods. It does not have to be deprivation
and should not be a strict low fat plan . If you are truly eating healthier and working out as you are then be patient
your body will change and it may not be reflected on the scales, that's why weighing yourself can get to discouraging.

You may have to work out 5 days a week to really see results. For many of us 3 days is not enough and you also need
to sweat! Stop looking at the big picture and go by how you feel each day . One day at a time is the only way to
get permanent results, looking at the big picture for many is so overwhelming that we miss the little achievements and
get frustrated. There is no easy way , you are on the right track . Also learn to love yourself now. Many women are
so disgusted with their bodies that they get dressed and never look at themselves, how can you love what you never
see, get in touch with how your body looks and work to make it a fit , healthy body, curves and all!

hi, i have the same problem. i started at 210 lb. and in the first week , gained 2 more pounds because now i was eat 5 x a day and my body wasnt use to getting regular intervals of food. 8 weeks later i am at 198 lb. i work out with a trainer ( a must) 3x a week with weights and doing cardio and 3 x a week alone doing cardio with min 20 minutes to up to a hour workout walking around a very long lake. i have definitely lost inches and know weight shouldnt count because even in my skinny days i weighed more than my fatter friends and i was very fit, muscle does weigh more. i think the frustration is wanting that instant gratification because i am finally working my butt off and i feel like i should see better weight results. its basically a sense of want not need.......so typical.
