This year my husband and I made it down to our son and his wife's family's Thanksgiving celebrations.
It rained all the way down the night we drove down.
This was the second time we celebrated with both families. The time before was when my son and his wife were just engaged. Now they are married one year.
It was a joyous occasion with her brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. The women cooking in the kitchen. One of the sisters playing the piano and a sister-in-law singing. The young children playing, taking naps, and running up and downstairs between the women in the kitchen and the men downstairs watching all the football games.
When the turkey was ready all was quiet for prayer of thanksgiving and then the eating began. We eat so much and yet there was plenty of leftovers.
We all pitched in with the cleanup.
Then the women and children played a game together. Some men took a nap while others watched the football games while resting their eyes.
The next day is known as Black Friday. I think they should change that to Positive Friday as the stores sales show their best positive figure on that day for the whole year.
The four days down at my son and his wife's home is a time we'll try to make each year. And they in turn can come up here for the Canadian Thanksgiving in October."
