Although intelligence of every man is determinate with his birth, development of intelligence represents complex process what has its own law. Therefore it is necessary to know that law in order to be able to have functional development of intelligence.
If spiritual consciousness in conscious is prevented or if it is not enough developed, people are not able properly interpret interaction with surrounding. On that way they formed very strong feeling of half-conscious ego.
Because, nothing disappear from consciousness, those feelings remain in consciousness as the closest "follower " of conscious from which conscious forming thoughts. Therefore, that conscious have dysfunctional character what manifests as automatic thoughts or established inside dialog with many prejudices, misinterpretation, illusions, etc.
For childhood is characteristic undeveloped intelligence, therefore, emotional or spiritual development, and because childhood is particularly liable to form half - conscious ego.
We expect from adults to be responsible for them own life. But, how much adult person will be able to be functional in own life, or how much it can be aware of own dysfunction, depend of forming in period of childhood.
If is in period of childhood present constant accumulation of half-conscious ego, conscious of those children will be abundant with misconception. Therefore, children or adults, who long time living under abnormal circumstances (cruelty, violence, stress) on the end accept that as something normal and natural.
They are not able to understand cause of negative feelings and thoughts, therefore they experience it like they essence (or authentic self). In dependence of specific negative experiences, different children have different experience of them selves, therefore everything around them selves.
Not acting from they authentic self, but only trough negative feelings of half-conscious ego interaction with surrounding is not successful but full of defeat. That further causing those children to experience them selves as stupid, bad, worthless or inferior to everything outside themselves. On that way interaction with surrounding is passive, irresponsible with characteristic of resignation.
Some children can have opposite reaction and see everything outside bad and without value. Therefore, they can experience themselves as superior towards everything outside, and form arrogance in interaction with surrounding.
All those phenomenon are caused by formation of half-conscious ego which prevent spiritual development. Prevent spiritual development always have consequence in destructive behaviour either towards itself, or towards surrounding. Sometime even as complex destruction towards both.
Every manipulative, selfish, amoral, insincere, etc. man, no matter how intelligent or successful he appears, is spiritually undeveloped, therefore dysfunctional man. Spinoza said rightly something as: " One who despise himself is closest to arrogant man."
