Kirstie Alley on the Show!

Posted on Apr 30, 2009 3:31 PM

The Kirstie Alley show airs today. Make sure to check it out. I actually worked with Kirstie on the first show when the talented Nate Berkus gave Kirstie a new kitchen. Kirstie was a great sport when, as in all construction, we hit some big roadblocks! The kitchen turned out beautifully and it was fun to see it again when we shot with Kirstie a few weeks ago.

It's a full circle moment for me to be working with her again. So many of us can relate to her weight struggles, but Kirstie is so funny about it all ...I swear every time I review this show taping, I laugh at something new she's said.

The second half of the show features, Michael Hebranko. I was not familiar with his story until we started working on this show. The word I kept using around the building to describe Michael is indomitable.

If you ever thought you've lost your battle with weight....when you meet Michael, you might change your mind.

I thought that Kirstie looked Gorgeous, she is a wonderful woman and to me the weight don't matter.
Yes, health is the main concern. I wish her the best !

Kirstie is the greatest! She made my day. Regardless of her weight, she's one awesome, beautiful woman. We love you regardless, Kirstie!!

What is this woman hiding? I've always had an instinct that there is a deep secret. She wears her hair in her face and does not lift her head. No matter how much she laughs and cracks jokes, her body language screams, "Don't look at me!" "Don't see me!" Until she figures out what is her "secret", I think it will keep her "hidden" with extra weight. I wish her the best of luck and hopes she gets to the real problem.

Kirstie is so funny and I relate to her weightloss trials. I wonder how she feels about the phrase, "it's not dieting, it's a lifestyle change."
After over 56 yrs. of trying to lose weight, that phrase make me cringe. By the way, I've never had high blood preasure and I am pretty healthy for being almost 64 yrs old.

I can so relate to Kirstie's weight problem. I joined "Jenny Craig" and lost 50# in 4 months. I then had a hysterectomy and after that gained all the weight back. I then had a goal to loose it all again on Jenny Craig which I did. Once I lost it all, I quit exercising and gained it back again. I am now losing weight on my own. I know how to eat correctly but in order to loose weight I believe you have to watch what you eat, but also EXERCISE is very important! I think it is definitely a "lifestyle change" to keep it off. Good Luck Kirstie, you can do it!

i Love Kirstie Alley..through the years i have see her weight gain..and watched some media throw stones at her because of it..Actors are people to.they are not perfect and i think she is great and a Inspiration for all who struggle with there weight..including me:) keep up the great work Lady..

I love total transparency and Kirstie gave your viewers that today. I turned 40 this year and I have never worked out a day in my life. Now I am so afraid, I have gone from a size 4 to 12 and everyone says it looks great on me but I feel like a big ball of wax that needs to melt. I appreciate Kirstie and she has made me laugh for decades. Good Luck to her and keep us updated.

What makes Kirstie who she is, is her bold personality which is hundred times more powerful than anything else! Did she ever get her twitter? Would love to hook up with her and maybe I can get inspired too :)

I do wish there'd be a show about how people in wheelchairs can have a healthier lifestyle. I mean not people in manual wheelchairs since they are way more physical than people in my situation that they are practically able bodied :p

Great to hear Kirstie is not giving up on herself and is continuing on the path to a healthier body and doing it with laughter. Kirstie, lets do this together. Would love to be one of the firsts to give your weight loss plan a try. Can't wait to see and feel the results.

Hi Jenna,
I really enjoy your blog and watch the Oprah show everyday. Would you ever consider doing a feature on a story line that is on the soap opera Guiding Light between the characters of Olivia and Natalia (a.k.a. Otalia)? It is a slow burning love story about two women who fell in love with each other that never expected to. I think this story line would fit in well on a piece about same-sex couple love stories becoming more prevalent on television. It is the best love story that is on television right now and has a huge fan base that can also be found online. This story line has touched so many people across the world and has been handled beautifully by the writers. I think it would be facinating for your viewers to be introduced to this storyline and the performances that are given by Crystal Chappell (plays Olivia) on Guiding Light everyday. Keep up the great work in the world of OW!

Dear Jenna,

I happen to have a great idea for a guest!

I recently read Oprah's interview with Michelle Obama, and her passion in supporting American artists. During this tough time, the arts are sometimes treated as disposable. But I truly believe the arts are a part of a culture¿s heart and should be supported to thrive especially during difficult times

I work at a fabulous company, Artful Home in Madison, WI. We are a small company with a big heart, driven by talented and passionate art and craft lovers. We represent over 1200 North American artists who focus on a variety of media: jewelry, painting, glass art, wearables, furniture and more. Much like Harpo, we are proud to be led by strong and driven women. Today our CEO is Lisa Bayne, who has expanded upon the company¿s vision to bring original artwork to anyone anywhere, whether it be a quirky coffee mug or a fabulous glass blown chandelier!

I have absolutely fallen in love with Artful Home¿s mission to support the arts. Now that I have found this wonderful company I want to see Artful Home and our amazing artists succeed in our mission!

Please take a moment to check out our beautiful website and our amazing artists. I think if you spoke with Lisa Bayne for 2 minutes about her passion for American artists you would discover a wonderful story!

Thank you for your time.

Vanessa

You know, I think she looks fine too, but if she's not comfortable, then it's not okay. What I am looking forward to is this so called diet plan she's coming up with in November. I sure hope Oprah follows up on that one to see if she did what she said she was going to do.

I'm holding her to it.

Oprah does great shows with stars and upcoming movies and such. Has she been interested in doing a big show with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Stephanie Meyer? The second movie from the Twilight saga is going to be released on November 20th. These stars are heading out after filming their third installment of the Twilight series for their press junket for New Moon. On other shows they will only be interviewed for a few minutes it would be great to see Oprah interview these three for a whole hour. Since Oprah is such a big fan of reading, and books how these books have inspired young readers to actually pick up a book and read. They read them not only once but read them several times. I am a 41 year old and I have not only read them once but 5 times through. Pre-sale tickets have sold out all over theaters in the U.S. for the midnight showing of New Moon and it doesn't come out for another 18 days! How papprazi have almost tortured these actors as they don't let them have any piece. I think the viewers would tune into watch this show.
