Kirstie Alley on the Show!

Posted on Apr 30, 2009 3:31 PM

The Kirstie Alley show airs today. Make sure to check it out. I actually worked with Kirstie on the first show when the talented Nate Berkus gave Kirstie a new kitchen. Kirstie was a great sport when, as in all construction, we hit some big roadblocks! The kitchen turned out beautifully and it was fun to see it again when we shot with Kirstie a few weeks ago.

It's a full circle moment for me to be working with her again. So many of us can relate to her weight struggles, but Kirstie is so funny about it all ...I swear every time I review this show taping, I laugh at something new she's said.

The second half of the show features, Michael Hebranko. I was not familiar with his story until we started working on this show. The word I kept using around the building to describe Michael is indomitable.

If you ever thought you've lost your battle with weight....when you meet Michael, you might change your mind.

I just got back from one of the most fascinating shoots I've ever done.

Oprah and our team were invited to the YFZ Ranch, an infamous Polygamist community located in what is the most isolated area of Texas I've ever seen.

You might remember the Yearning for Zion Ranch. Last year, 439 children were removed from the property and taken into protective custody.

Now, a year later, all but one of the children have been returned to the ranch.

My team and I have been covering this story all year, and until the raid, this ranch has been off limits.

Now, we have been offered an intimate look at how the people on the ranch live, their daily routines, customs and rituals. Oprah asks the questions we all want to know....on love, marriage, dating and even sex.

We're working on the video tape now...and I think it's going to be incredible.

Tune in Monday!

It's Facebook Friday!

Posted on Mar 11, 2009 6:20 PM

Our team is producing the Live Friday show this week.

We love working on these shows because you never know what the big stories might be.

This week, we're unveiling the new "Oprah Winfrey Show" Facebook page!

Thanks for "friending" us!

I have to admit, I didn't know a lot about Facebook until I started working on this show. I created my very first profile and heard from people I haven't talked to in years. I'm still learning the lingo and I haven't had the courage to send out a status update. But I do love getting them from my friends.

One of my friends is making cookies.

Another is planning their St. Patrick's Day.

And another just had triplets!

There is great comfort in knowing what everyone is up to all at the same time!

Also, I know you have seen the YouTube video, "Christian the Lion". That moment when the giant lion leaps up to hug his former owners makes us all cry!

So many people wondered what the real story is behind that video..well, we've got it!

Make sure to tune in Friday, when our friends Ali, Mark and Gayle are live on the show!
