Heather,
How did you forget when Mary Tyler Moore surprised Oprah? I was so elated and I cried like a baby. I watched the show and I cried every time. I wish I could get a copy of that episode. My Tivo blew up and my husband was on shut down for one week because of it. LOL.

Hi Heather,

I think a follow up show about Oprah's past surprises is a fantastic idea! I've always wondered what happened with the audience members who were given cars and the first 'Favorite Thing Giveaway.' How were they treated when they returned home? Where are they now?

I would also love to see a follow up story about the three men from Newark, New Jersey who made a pact to become Doctors. They are fondly known as, 'The Three Doctors.' I was so compelled with their story that I became a volunteer for their foundation. Since their appearance on Oprah, they went on to write two New York Time Best Sellers, A book about forgiving absentee fathers called "The Bond." They tour the country as motivational speakers. Telling their story and encouraging youths that education is the key to success. They've established a non-profit organization to inspire and motivate youth through education to achieve leadership and career success in their community. They unbelievably do all of this while they are two full time Medical Physicians and one Dentist. I feel it's time for them to return to the Oprah Show, they are continuing to inspire and make waves!

I agree with the last post I'd like to see the Three Doctors come on to the show because that is really inspiring! I think that would be a fantastic show. Also Heather, I'm curious if you got to go to see Mary Poppins in Chicago or not? I know that some of the producers for Oprah got to go because my godsister Tiffany Howard is in it. She informed me yesterday that some of the people from Mary Poppins got to go to sit in on the taping of the show "Hidden Heros" thats coming up and some of the producers got to go to see Mary Poppins? Is it as good as everyone says? I always loved seeing Tiffany perform, I remember her as a kid, while other girls were on the playground, she was at dance lessons. LOL!

I'd also like to tell you that she said "Hidden Heros" reminded her a lot of what I've been trying to do here in the state of Virginia. I'm legally blind, I've had 23 surgeries at a local childrens hospital before the age of 13 (about 2 per year), and I was denied government services as a kid going through school. In spite of these concessions, I graduated from the University of Richmond as their first legally blind graduate. Last year, I recieved government services from the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired. They provided me with a new pair of glasses that allowed me to see stars in the night sky, street signs, license plates, and facial expressions for the very first time in my life! I have a video on youtube that I hope you'll check out. Search my youtube channel "xxclassic08" and the name of the video is "Can Anyone See This Video?" Its only 3 minutes and 18 seconds long. I've recieved responses from people who want to help me spread the word already. The list currently includes, Governor Tim Kaine's office, the President of the University of Richmond, and The Children's Hosptial in Norfolk where I was a patient. I hope that you will check out my video. I'm also running in my first five mile race for that hospital in June to raise money and awareness. I ran in my first race ever on April 11th, and surprisingly I placed 2nd in my age group (20 - 24). Thanks!!

Heather,
I remembered another segment that had me in tears. What happen to the girl that Oprah adopted and sent to school. I think she had lost her mother or something and Oprah paid for her college and told her she would take care of her. She was like Oprah's daughter and I cried like a baby on that one too. Do you remember that show?

Hi Heather,
I really enjoy your blog and watch the Oprah show everyday. Would you ever consider doing a feature on a story line that is on the soap opera Guiding Light between the characters of Olivia and Natalia (a.k.a. Otalia)? It is a slow burning love story about two women who fell in love with each other that never expected to. I think this story line would fit in well on a piece about same-sex couple love stories becoming more prevalent on television. It is the best love story that is on television right now and has a huge fan base that can also be found online. This story line has touched so many people across the world and has been handled beautifully by the writers. I think it would be facinating for your viewers to be introduced to this storyline and the performances that are given by Crystal Chappell (plays Olivia) on Guiding Light everyday. Keep up the great work in the world of OW!

I ordered Resveratrol the "free" bottle & was told I would only have to pay the S & H, I was billed $1 & $2.95 BUT I also was charged $87.13 for WHAT??? My friends told me to contact FBI Complaint center! I really don't want to but I don't know how to stop this constant charging to my card. PLEASE TELL ME, ANY OF YOU, HOW TO STOP THIS. I can't get thru on the "number" they gave you to call if you have any questions. It always RINGS BUSY--EVERY TIME or they put you on hold (automated of course) &NEVER NEVER GET BACK TO YOU!! I would appreciate ANY help you can give. I am retired & cannot afford these charges. I WANT THIS ACCOUNT CANCELLED. If I cannot get any help I will have to contact the FBI line! This is not a threat, but I am destitute.
Thank you, Angie

Hi Heather

I work with Paul James "The Gardener Guy" from HGTV's Gardening By The Yard, which is currently in it's 12 years on air. I would like to get Paul booked as a guest on the Oprah show. Paul is a really funny guy and would make a great guest. With Gardening being the #1 outdoor activity we could go in many different angles for a segment. We are currently in the height of the veggie growing season and timing is perfect for growing your own because #1 it cost less and taste better.

Any help would be appreciated.

How about an exclusive trip to Disneyland or Disney Cruise for your entire audience. Rent the entire theme park/cruise ship for the winners! We went to Disneyland this Summer and the park was SO packed, it was almost dangerous to walk around and the lines were VERY long with barely any shade. Gina@shastaproperties.com

Maybe I am a few months late to this post, but what the heck all that matters is that I get to say hello.

How are you Heather? Glad to see you are still with TOWS. It was good to stumble across your blog.

Can you believe it has been ten years since you invited me to surprise my wife Daphne on the show? I have to say that was one of my favorite surprises. That was such a HUGE moment for us and especially me. Preparing for the show weeks before, focusing on our marriage, and then coming to Chicago and surprising Daphne with Oprah was so fun. It was life changing. Ten years later we still have a blast occasionally showing friends the video, laughing and reliving the memories. No one believes our story, but when they see the video and us on stage with Opah, they are amazed...so fun! The premise of the our 2 minutes on stage was so simple, yet an extremely empowering experience for me as a husband and father. I wish we could relive it all over again.

I still have the best wife, marriage, and family in the world!!! Thanks for helping me along the way.

Have a blessed new show season! I would to have you drop a line or two if you find spare minute. Hope you are well.

Hi Heather,
Here's a show idea for you. I am wondering/hoping if Oprah is ever going to interview the incredibly super-talented Keith Urban. After all, he is married to Nicole Kidman who Oprah has interviewed, but he is phenomenal by his own merit! He is a truly gifted musician, singer, songwriter, and performer. This guy eludes a sense of gratefulness and openly discusses the gratitude he feels in his life because of his difficult struggles both professionally and personally during his road to superstardom. That's got Oprah written all over it! I, as you can tell, am a HUGE fan and I have seen him in concert seven times and I can tell you there is no one more genuine than Keith Urban. Despite his obvious success, he appears to be so down to earth. I think the world needs to know this about Keith. I only live an hour south of his home and would love to meet him. Surprise me please!
