It is in the news, on television, or in your local paper, and each time you listen to some thing about it; it feeds into your anger or prejudice mind. Then one day you feel like taking things into your own hands to fix the problem, and this just lands you in jail to serve time for weeks, months, and even years. For you have forgotten that these are human beings you're dealing with and they become legal to our laws once you hurt them. Yet it is not your fault because you do not understand them so you think, because you did not take the time to understand another culture besides your own. It is easily done getting lost in what we believe in and blinding our eyes to something we just can not understand. What can you do? Well you can become a voice and maybe with your voice and more voices the government will wake up and this problem can be taken care of. I know what you're thinking that this takes too much time. Well friend how much time do you think it takes for an Illegal Alien to become an American Citizen? I will tell you friend it takes a lot of years, money, and enough time for you to get a group of voices together to fight for what you believe in. Let me tell you in 1980 was when I first heard about people taking our land, our jobs, and more. I thought how our government could let this happen to this country. Then when you think about it maybe it is not our government maybe it is big business that is doing this because they do not want to pay us Americans the dollars we deserve. Think about it we want real wages for that job and benefits. With Illegal Aliens doing the jobs they do not have to pay them the right wages or give them benefits because what an Illegal Immigrant going do is with benefits so they think, because like you they forget that an Illegal Alien is even human. They are very human and like you and me, they want their children to have a good education, they want wages to take care of their families, and a chance to own things just like you and me. In Mexico they do not have a chance, and if you do not see why, well with my blog I am hoping I can bring a new insight to your eyes, and then I hope you study other cultures on your own. There is much more to this little world then our USA so wake up people. My first visit to Mexico took place in July of 1994, and I was in a culture shock. I guess living in the USA made me think, and maybe this could be a lot of what you might think that people lived just like us. Well talk about culture shock, I seen many women using a big blanket over their head to shelter their children, for this was their home. They beg in the streets to get food inside their families' stomach, what a life huh? I watch as young children instead of being in school were selling what they could sell to get money for their family. I am talking things like even a cow bell can an item to sell. The town that my exhusband is from had tiny homes, in his father's house there was a dirt floor, a hard wood bed, and the roof had tree branch over it. His father's goal was get to the USA so he could improve his home. My heart went out to the people of Mexico and I begun to understand why they would even risk death to get into our country. The next year in March of 1995 blew my mind a way for I got to stand in a spot where I am sure many other Illegal Aliens stood before entering our country. I got to stand on this bridge which was called "The Gate Way Into America" before I go into detail about this spot let me start with the park in which I stood which is right across the street from this bridge. In the park I see this man, his clothes are torn, he is dirty from head to toe, he has his hands out, pointing in the sky, and he is looking into the sky. In his eyes I see he has lost all hope, it is an unhappy thing I ever seen in my life. I wanted to cry. Then I see a little girl who looks between three to five years old, she sales gum, and sings a song in Spanish. I ask my exhusband what she sings he says "She is asking for people to buy her gum so her bothers and mother can eat, yet she sings do not worry about me for if you feed my family you feed me." The tears just start to pour out of my eyes. Then I see more women with the big shawls covering their children. It is heart breaking time, and when we cross the street and I stand in that spot on the bridge. I pretend I am in their shoes, someone who came from one of the small towns or farm, and I take a minute to look into Mexico, I see the man on the ground, the little girl who sales the gum, and the women covering their children. I smell the air which smells like urine and garbage, and then look into the streets which are dirty. Then I slowly turn my head to look into the USA, at that time I am looking the sun begun to shine off the buildings on the other side, and it look like a city made of gold. My friends tell me would you not want to go running with your arms wide open to embrace those builds and take whatever you could get from them if you were that person from the town or farm? It all came in too clear why the people of Mexico risk life to come. Now you say they can try to work on proper papers will I went through that paper work with my exhusband and it took money. Also time as you wait to make sure you fill out each paper right. It took a lot of money for they would say "Well we need this paper instead, and that cost you another $20.00 bucks. It took $5,000.00 dollars and five years for everything to be done right in Immigrations eyes. This was back in the 1990 so I can not imagine how much it cost now and since 9/11 happen I am sure it is double hard to get in. So the Illegal Aliens take the easy way out but to get into this country friend is not that easy. You have to hire someone who will take you across the boarder and it is not cheap and the road is dangerous. So can you understand why taking the risk is great and making it is even greater? Now you might be thinking okay but I still think it is unfair for them to get medical and education. Alright then we need to help them build up their country so they stop coming into ours and that is why we need your voice. Not to throw hate but to tell our government why not help Mexico build up their country with better schools, and places where people can get a good wage, and sleep at night. Maybe you think like my brother who said "Let them fight their own war." We are fighting a war in Afghanistan and Iraq so think about the war factor. Also are you forgetting the war we fought in Vietnam that took 20 years and were still cleaning up that country? War is not the answer, we need to come together as one voice and get our government to move on this and put an end to Illegal Immigration forever. Believe me if they get good education for their kids, good wage jobs, and other needs are met, they will not come for I have talk to hundreds who say how much they love their country, If only they could have what we here in the USA have and sometimes take for granted. So put your voice together and end Illegal Immigration forever.
