CNN - Larry King Live Blog question: THE ECONOMY...WE'VE LOST 1.2 MILLION JOBS THIS YEAR, AND THERE'S NO END IN SIGHT. WHAT'S YOUR SOLUTION & WHAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST FEARS? SOUND OFF AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

You're right Larry, there seems to be no end in sight with regard to job loss in America. So what is the solution you ask? Well I'm in no position to make a deciding solution for the economy like President George W. Bush could, or even President-elect Barack Obama.

I do have an idea for the rest of us though. Every regular citizen can and should do their part in finding a short-term solution and look no further for that than budgeting.

Companies and business owners across the country have to make better calculated decisions on running their trade. They need to engage in better financial practices that still connect with the sole purpose and objective of their given business. Everyone's been talking about going green, well Larry it's time for everyone to get smart!

During a recession or depression, citizens find themselves spending much less than they would prior to an economic crisis. Even if some people are not suffering financially, they will still have that fear surrounding them and evoking them to spend less. Fear forces people to act a certain way and the best example I could give you would be in 2003 when George W. Bush was shouting that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. So suddenly the American people wanted justice to be served to the Iraqis, only for us to find out later that the weapons of mass destruction claim perpetrated by President Bush was nothing but a fearful leveraging act to dictate a war for his own contorted agenda.

So until further notice from either President Bush, which is highly unlikely, or President-elect Obama, there's nothing the American people can really do besides cutting their budgets down to necessities.

CNN - Cafferty File question: Are Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid the right leaders for the new Congress?

Despite Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid's past history, I believe they are capable legislators while being the right leaders put in place by President-elect Barack Obama.

Simple reason is that Obama is dictating a new direction for the Democratic party moving forward, while also feeding the Republicans with goodwill by hiring a select few into his cabinet and administration. I believe this will essentially change the way the American government is run because of this new united-feel put forth.

I do not feel we can accurately judge the leadership in new Congress until we see it executed. However, I would surely bet that we will see a better outcome within the next 4-years rather than what we saw in the past 8-years under President George W. Bush.

I knew when watching live on my television set that this was history in the making on the night of November 4, 2008.

I was watching a man who inspired me, a man who made me realize that if we simply come together, we can create real change. That man was Barack Hussein Obama.

Barack Obama was the Democratic Presidential candidate who became President-elect. He will be sworn in as the first ever African-American President on January 20, 2009.

With honor, I supported and campaigned for Barack Obama through online blogs and discussions, and also through word of mouth. I knew I could not vote as a Canadian, but I understood that it was imperative for change in America in order to instill much needed change around the world. That's what prompted me to impact votes for the 2008 US Presidential Election.

Barack Obama delivered his Presidential victory speech at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois before a massive supportive crowd with citizens and celebrities alike. Obama's speech will go down as a historical ending to a chapter in history that lasted 45-years, while beginning a brand new chapter in history.

Martin Luther King, Jr. began the 45-year old chapter by saying "I have a dream," on August 28, 1963.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.""And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual - free at last, free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Barack Obama was that man who finally broke the barrier and answered Martin Luther King's dream for everyone worldwide. You will not be judged by the colour of your skin, but rather by the character you exude. If you can become President of the United States, you can become anything you want!

Onset of becoming President in 2009, Barack Obama delivered a Presidential-elect victory speech like no other. Everything you ever wanted to say but felt as if you were being politically incorrect was finally said, and that is what change is all about. Barack Obama is about the people!

Here now is Barack Obama's entire victory speech:

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on that train home to Delaware, the Vice President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nations next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House. And while she's no longer with us, I know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics - you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to - it belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington - it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston.

It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generations apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didn't do this just to win an election and I know you didn't do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime - two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century. Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage, or pay their doctors bills, or save enough for college. There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, We are not enemies, but friends...though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down - we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security - we support you. And to all those who have wondered if Americas beacon still burns as bright - tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.

For that is the true genius of America, that America can change. Our union can be perfected. And what we have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing - Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons - because she was a woman and because of the colour of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her century in America - the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that We Shall Overcome. Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America."

There we have it - a moment in time that generations upon us will be talking about and we were the ones who lived through it!

I love real change.

History was made tonight when Democratic Barack Hussein Obama was officially elected the 44th President of the United States of America.

Barack Obama becomes the very first African-American President in United States history. Joe Biden will join him as the Vice President.

Barack Obama was elected President on November 4, 2008 with 297 electoral votes against Republican John McCain's 139 electoral votes. This victory came to fruition after all the hard work from the entire Obama campaign and their supporters was paid off.

Obama undoubtedly had some of the best people working with him during this Presidential campaign. I have no doubt he will have an excellent cabinet working by his side come January 2009.

Congratulations America, you elected real change for the world!

Finally, big congratulations to Barack Obama on this historical Presidential election - Canada's proud of you!

Barack Obama will officially be sworn in as the new United States President on January 20, 2009.

New President Draws Near

Posted on Nov 7, 2008 8:30 PM

It's been a dominating night thus far for Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama on Election Day 2008. He currently holds 206 electoral votes against Republican candidate Sen. John McCain's 89 electoral votes. A Presidential candidate must attain 270 electoral votes to win the Presidency.

Upon victory or defeat, Barack Obama will be conducting an outdoor speech in Chicago, Illinois tonight in front of more than one million people. This comes to us after a historical campaign that saw the very first African-American Presidential candidate in United States history.

Just like Democratic John F. Kennedy became the first and thus far only Catholic President in American history in 1961, the Democrats look to again make history now on this night. They look to make history by electing Barack Obama as the first ever African-American President in United States history!

CNN has reported today that there are as many as 4,000 absentee ballots missing and unaccounted for today in the state of New Mexico. That is just flat out atrocious and it make me wonder how many other absentee ballots are missing in other states.

If the Republicans want to provide a good America, then why not win the Election within a good manner of fairness and not just dirty tricks?

In the 2000 Presidential Election between Al Gore and George W. Bush, the Republicans stole it for Bush due to the many absentee ballots casted for Gore that mysteriously went missing. That of course was corrupt, and that corruptness continued throughout Bush's entire 8-year term as President. This has to change, and it begins with Barack Obma of the Democrats.

Canada wants Obama, and America should want Obama too, if they too want a good America. A good America will result in a revival of that original American Dream, a dream that has been missing since the 90's with President Bill Clinton.

Choose "REAL CHANGE" with your "VOTE" and not the same "Empty Republican Promises" and dirty tricks. Please America, do not back down on this Election. Make sure your vote counts, and make sure your vote makes an impact with Barack Obama!

Vote Today For Real CHANGE

Posted on Nov 7, 2008 8:29 PM

The time is now, we have gone past midnight.

Across all of the United States of America, voting has begun for the 44th President.

As a Canadian I don't have to care, but I do. Just as I care for my next door neighbours, I care for America too. When I see my neighbour sad, I feel sad, but when I see them happy I feel happy.

I want to see that America I once loved during the 90's. President Bill Clinton was commander and chief and riding high with an economical surplus. Times were good.

With all the hits Barack Obama has taken from media, John McCain, and Sarah Palin, he has shown the strong will needed in order to survive in the oval office. After all, it's not about how hard you can hit, but rather how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward without any deviations.

There's no question that Barack Obama has taken the hits from every corner, and while none of them have been warranted, none of them have affected him either. He's stayed true to his word.

As a Canadian I unfortunately do not have the privilege of voting. What I can do though is impact your vote and I feel as if I have done so. Many Republicans have taken their time to email me and thank me for the insight I have opened them up to. As a result they will now be voting for Barack Obama.

Obama has been there with the middle-class of America right from the get-go. He's lost both parents and he's suffered through financial pain. He knows what it's like to be hampered with health care payments. His mom was even being bombarded with insurance bureaucracies while she was on her deathbed with cancer.

Americans suffer through those same pains everyday and as President, Barack Obama looks to eliminate as much of those pains as possible by lowering taxation for 95% of Americans. So if you're making less than a quarter of a million dollars, then you will see your taxes reduced. Big corporations and the upper-class can once again see their taxes due in the same amount as they were in President Bill Clinton's term.

I'll retort to my earlier comment in the fact that when I see my neighbour unhappy, I feel unhappy because it's an atmosphere around me that begs for help. Big corporations and the upper-class of America should share those same feelings.

Vote Barack Obama for President and Joe Biden for Vice President once your polls open.

If instead you choose to vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin, then do not complain when your country is not on its way to financial surplus. As a result, your country would once again be viewed in the light of President George W. Bush. If that becomes the case, then you ‘my friends' are cowards because you know you voted for the Republicans and missed the opportunity for REAL CHANGE.

If you know your role, then Democratic Barack Obama is your vote. Your role is to uphold the American Dream once again, as it was in the 90's. The time for talking is no longer needed. The time to vote is now.

I bid you good luck with the fulfillment of "CHANGE" in the most important Presidential Election in the history of the United States of America.

Sincere Condolence To The Obama Family

Posted on Nov 7, 2008 8:28 PM

My sincere condolence goes out to the Obama family today as Democratic US Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama lost his grandma, Madelyn Dunham, who was taken away at the age of 86 from cancer today.

This heart breaking news comes just one day away from tomorrow's Election Day. Barack Obama looks on to become the first African-American President in United States history, against Republican US Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.

No matter the outcome of tomorrow's election results, Madelyn Dunham, will undoubtedly be a cherished grandmother credited for the mending of an inspirational gentleman-leader she sought through Barack Obama.

With anything, there has to be a captivating subjectivity that lures an individual into any given matter in order to prompt an invested action. When you look at Barack Obama and John McCain campaigning for President today with Election Day drawing near, you realize their inspired emotional connection they're extracting on all of us. They're living their lives to inspire you to vote for them, which in turn will allocate them the control over your country.

How do they do it?

They instill fear in you, sometimes for legitimate reasons or other times to dictate. Once you're scared you scramble for a new direction and you're likely to turn to your elected President or Prime Minister because that person has the biggest title in the country. The reason you turn to the commander and chief is because you were inspired to do so during a crucial time early on - the campaign trail. Depending on if that commander and chief stays true to his or her word during their time in office will determine whether or not you will remain inspired on following their word.

Bill Clinton inspired us all during the 1990's when he took a country in great deficits and overturned the economy into one of the richest and most stable economies in the world, with its biggest surplus in history. Clinton stayed true to his word from words spoken on his campaign trail in 1992 and that's why we followed him, and in most cases we still do today.

Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 and brought into the oval office in 1993 because the United States was entering a recession at the time under George H. W. Bush, and there were fears of that transcending into another Great Depression. Bill Clinton was able to use that fear and use proceeding Bush's track record of some of the greatest deficits in US history as a way to inspire Americans for their vote, and it worked despite Clinton being "young" in comparison and "inexperienced."

Fast forward to 2001, George W. Bush was elected into the oval office and he sure did not fall short from his father's footsteps. He took America's largest grossing era and detracted the economy down to its now largest deficit in history. Both George Bush's have set records during their Presidential terms, and they're both gutter performances. The United States are trillions of dollars in debt and are in a current recession, which brinks yet another Great Depression during a time of "economic crisis," that is now spreading worldwide.

I don't know how Bush, Jr. was able to do it, but he beat out his daddy on this one!

So who can fix this next round of recessionary times in America? Do we stick with the Republicans and pick John McCain because he wants to tax the middle class and keep rich families and corporations on top as they are? Or do we want to once again turn to the Democrats, the quintessential saviors of the 1990's, and elect Barack Obama because he wants to reform America and cut taxes for 95% of Americans, while implementing standard taxation rules for the rich?

In 1992, George H. W. Bush was planning to enforce further military use in the Middle Eastern regions upon re-election, in continuing a Gulf War during recessionary time; however, the Americans said no by electing a new face in Bill Clinton to repair the economy.

Americans can basically copy and paste the history of 1992 and insert it into 2008, because now John McCain wants to continue George W. Bush's plan in the Middle East by attacking Iran. Furthermore main staple countries like Russia, China, and Korea are on McCain's target list while Barack Obama rather set his attentions on the fast sinking economy.

This is an example of history never being so important like it is right now folks. You can say no to John McCain today, just like you said no to George H. W. Bush in 1992, by electing the "young" Barack Obama, who has often been deemed "inexperienced." Obama definitely cannot overturn the deficits into greens across the board during a 4-year term, but he can set America on the right track of surplus with the help of Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden, a man with over thirty years of involvement in politics. After the first term, the second term would be the time of economical surplus once again for America.

I have warned you all already that if you do choose to vote John McCain as your next US President, you will have to be prepared for the absolute worst. McCain would be continuing off the Bush path, essentially serving a 4-year extension of George W. Bush.

President Bush has already started the preliminary stages of a potential World War III by invading Iraq in 2003, and that war is still on-going. Bush has also in recent weeks invaded Pakistan and Syria. Let us not forget that a tie in with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has also been brought to forefront in regards to Georgia's attack on Russia in August 2008 that prompted the Russian invasion in Georgia. Apparently President George W. Bush wanted to antagonize Russia into another war, and that immediately brought up fears of a new Cold War.

With all these future wars in sight during a John McCain Presidential run, why would you in your right mind vote for him and the Republican Party? McCain takes great pride in fighting a war, it's what inspires him into thinking he's a great patriot of America when really he would be sending more young men and women down to the depths of hell.

You have to ask yourself this question. Whose motives inspire you more? John McCain, who will continue to tax you in large scales while fighting countries around the world with the use of military force, or Barack Obama, who looks to change the financial direction of America through democracy as Bill Clinton did during the 1990's?

Barack Obama delivers that captivating subjectivity that should surely lure your vote, because your vote should be one subjected towards a better America and a better world. History is on Barack Obama's side for this one.

Yesterday on October 26, 2008, two of four US helicopters landed in Syria with eight soldiers embarking on the first ever US-led attack on Syrian soil.

Israel claims to have no connection to such attacks, as they are only focused on Iran and Russia at the moment. Syria has never been part of the equation for them, much less the United States, and this is why this attack seems puzzling at first glance.

The death toll is now up to 9, with at least 4 of them being children. Reports are also surfacing that 14 more Syrian civilians are wounded by the US-led attack. After the impromptu invasion, US helicopters left the scene with all their soldiers aboard. So why the sudden attack out of nowhere yesterday?

It's rather simple folks. President George W. Bush is trying to amend a constitutional right to suspend the 2008 US Presidential Election, and he can do so in a time where the US is actively combating in three wars with military force. If President Bush can secure a third war next to Iraq and Afghanistan, we won't see Barack Obama or John McCain next Tuesday on Election Day - we'll see Bush declaring a suspension till further notice.

Last week alone, the US invaded Pakistan with two attacks, killing 20 innocent civilians. No adequate reasoning for these attacks were been made besides the usual label of ‘war on terror'. What did Pakistan do to the United States that prompted these attacks?

The answer is nothing, and that applies to Syria too. Despite being attacked though, Syria has decided against using military force to attain revenge for the sole reason of these attacks taking place far to close to Election Day.

Though it does seem rather unlikely, the possible suspending of the election is factual truth. This can happen and you can sure bet that President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are on the drawing board trying to work their magic as promptly as they ever have for this one. The last thing they want is a Democratic nominee like Barack Obama coming in and getting a hold of all their book keeping records, the largely stretched records of falsehood I might add. These are records that when exposed will have some criminal justice consequences appointed for towards the respective men and women in charge, and there's no doubt in my mind about that one.

If President Bush cannot suspend the Election in time, then his last bet is to try and stir enough social unrest in the world with hopes of that giving John McCain the nod as being the next President. This would be his last hope because Republicans believe that during a time of war, John McCain is best suited to take charge proceeding George W. Bush.

I tend to disagree, and while Republicans are entitled to believe whatever they may, everyone must realize the facts of the matter:

  • Voting for McCain means you're voting for a quintessential World War III.
  • Voting for Obama means you're voting for World Peace.

Election Day on November 4, 2008 will arguably be the most important date in US history and it's because the world's fate is in the hands of the next United States President. We've already been punctured with the global economic crisis, so take your pick if you want to further that wound with World War III or preferably repair it with World Peace.

Bill Clinton Endorses BC's Carbon Tax

Posted on Nov 7, 2008 8:25 PM

Originally written: October 17, 2008

Former US President Bill Clinton was here today in my hometown of Vancouver, BC, Canada this afternoon to address an audience at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center for the Pacific Economic Forum.

While Bill Clinton stated that Canada has one of the best banking systems in the world, he certainly caught many BC residents off-guard by praising the new carbon tax. The carbon tax law has been one of the most controversial actions put forth by British Columbia premier Gordon Campbell.

Clinton explained that Campbell's effort to combat climate change is, "the greatest economic generator you could embrace."

Many British Columbians have been outraged ever since the carbon tax was put to fruition on July 1, 2008, myself included. Gas prices are just far too high, and now with a tax included it just makes driving increasingly more expensive to pursue.

That being said after much thought and deliberation, I have to agree with Bill Clinton. Even though gas prices are at an all-time high, we do have to think about our planet's well-being. The reason for the controversy in the first place is because we all failed to see the true reason behind this new law. It's either that, or we were selfish.

Being the over-the-top gas consumption users that we are, we have to make smarter decisions on how we commute for the good of our climate. Mother Nature has been dampened by Global Warming, resulting from greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere by our vehicles. That in turn weakens our ozone layer and causes extreme weather conditions we are not used to. None of this spells good news.

So throw out your old habits like casual cruises and frequent road trips right now because you likely won't be able to afford it in the long run.

There are various options you can pursue upon going "green" and saving some dollars. Some of which include carpooling, transit bus, sky train, or using your bicycle.

I now carpool each morning when I go to BCIT. My friend and I just split the cost of gas and because we carpool we get to use the HOV lane, which gets us to school at a much quicker rate. That in turn lessens the rate of emissions emitted into the atmosphere.

My younger brother Derek no longer hitches rides from my dad, Kris or my mom, Cristina, nor me for that matter because he has decided to use his bicycle for his casual commuting needs from now on. So if he's going to a friend's house, he'll cycle over on his bike no problem.

During the summer, my friends and I went to UBC for a Jack Johnson concert, and instead of the usual drive down we would have done we decided to bus it. The bus trip was deemed cheaper and much more efficient in being "green," since we were a pack of seven people.

Now do you understand where Bill Clinton is coming from?

The carbon tax will have you spend more money, but not necessarily if you make smarter decisions. To some this may be a risk by going outside of their norms, but like any risk there's great reward at the end. My brother and I are experiencing that reward right now by having extra dollars in our wallets because of our new practices and you can too.

CNN - Cafferty File question: What single issue was most important to you?

As a Canadian I don't have to care, but I do. Just as I care for my next door neighbours, I care for America too.

I want to see that America I once loved during the 90's. President Bill Clinton was commander and chief and riding high with an economical surplus. Times were certainly good, up until George W. Bush took control in 2001.

For the past 8 years, President Bush has managed to plunder a country down from the greatest economical surplus to the greatest economical deficit in history. As a result, we are now in what we call an "economic crisis," or we can blatantly call it a recession bordering another Great Depression.

So Jack Cafferty, you ask what the single most important issue is for the 2008 US Presidential Election. Well I'm no bandwagon jumper but I will go with the majority this time in saying that the economy is the number one issue that America has to aid right now.

One of the big contributors to this problem is the fact that the US government is predominately being fed US dollars by the middle-class citizens. Some of these citizens are people that have troubles maintaining their own way of life financially, much less paying taxes. The upper-class and big corporations are sitting comfortably with their money free as can be, and that's the big reason in why America is plundering to a Great Depression.

During President Clinton's term, he mandated a leveled taxation plan that saw classes of all kinds in America contributing their fair share with regard to their level of income. What Barack Obama plans to do now is once again tax the big corporations and upper-class to the level they were paying in the 90's. The middle-class, those with incomes less than a quarter of a million dollars, will see their taxes reduced and that accounts for 95% of Americans.

As I said earlier, I care for my neighbours and when I see my neighbour unhappy, I feel unhappy because it's an atmosphere around me that begs for help. Big corporations and the upper-class of America should share those same feelings. This new taxation plan set force by Barack Obama will feed those feelings and put the economy back on track to another eventual surplus

What if you can make a change?

What if you could input yourself into an equation that results in social uplift?

Social uplift can be attributed towards any case. Say for example you were giving spare change to that person in desperate need. Or why not give that person some new shoes to replace the ragged one's that person displays on the streets?

Would you be happy with yourself, or was it a waste of time that took away your precious personal time?

Barack Obama will apply himself towards a social uprising for not only America, but also the world. John McCain will continue off of George W. Bush in perpetrating selfish acts non-related to you.

What if you vote for Barack Obama?

Would you simply be happier with Barack Obama, and if so why? What does the person on the streets in need of spare change and shoes have to do with voting for Barack Obama?

It has to do with everything because Obama plans to do the same deed to each and every one of you.

We don't know for sure if Barack Obama is the right man in charge until he is elected, but we can trust him because of the social uplift he has already established early on through his speeches and attentive care. He's dignified in working for America, he's inspirational, and he's passionate for helping you financially, economically, and socially in regards to education, health care, energy, and in your overall way of life.

On the flip coin, you will see John McCain who has not yet provided one valid reason to vote for him. All he can state are made up falsehood facts of Barack Obama. Is that Presidential material to reverse the economic slide in America?

Bear this question in mind when voting: Do you want a selfish dirty fighter with his own agenda as President, or do you want a clean man who will make the necessary calculated decisions to ensure a life full of prosperity for all Americans?

The answer is rather simple. Make that deed for change come Election Day and the truth of Barack Obama shall be revealed when he becomes the 44th President of the United States of America and returns the favour with many more deeds to you.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated Wednesday that the United Kingdom will likely join the recession trends felt around the world. This tide turning event for the UK is attributed by the global economic and financial crisis.

The economic catastrophe has sent the British pound down to its lowest point in five years against the US dollar. Canada's dollar has plummeted to its lowest in three years today.

Taking action on the banking system is just not going to be enough for the UK anymore, as Gordon Brown hinted today. That plan seems to work in Canada right now, where the top banks are being fleshed out from the smaller banks by the Canadian government with assistance set forth. For the UK though, it's time to join the global financial recession because that plan didn't work.

The United States fell to recession earlier this year because of a failed attempt to keep its economy at status quo, which in part deals hugely upon the banking system. Major countries like America, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan cannot, "insulate itself from it - Britain too," said Prime Minister Gordon Brown, in regards to recession today.

The global summit scheduled for next month in the United States is going to be a big eye opener for a lot of nations around the world. Britain in particular though are eying down the summit very closely.

The fact that the UK is not within allegiance to the European Union and Euro currency could hamper the UK's economic future. Most of the other European countries are bonded with the Euro currency, and it will be those European countries that collaborate together upon trying to orchestrate an overturn to current recession trends before they reach the depression level. As a result, the strongest nation in Europe would be lacking that support and teamwork needed to propel, so in effect it could leave the UK out in the dark. This is of course hypothetically, and an example of the worst case scenario.

These hypothetical future acts in the detergence of the financial system in the UK are nothing new though. The United States has faced these same problems for much longer now and realists are saying that the US dollar will be a dismal to their country, so they will scrap it and replace it with the brand new Amero currency under the North American Union - following suite of the European Union. Canada and Mexico would essentially convert to Amero as well.

If the United States parallels the Euro currency, then the United Kingdom surely should act fast and join the European Union or they may as well welcome back the Great Depression of the 1930's.

The fact that the British banking system was closer to a collapse last month than any other time in history since World War I says a lot about their future. Look at Iceland right now, they're still floating because Russia came to their aid financially.

Who's going to help Britain if they need it?

The United States won't help because they have their own issues. Canada won't because the government frankly cannot afford to do so. Russia certainly will not help because they're an enemy and same goes for China. So who's left? You guessed it, the European Union. However, they also have their own crisis to deal with too and until Britain converts to Euro, they will not be part of that cooperative rescue plan within the Euro synergy.

No matter what rescue plan is put forth within any individual country, I believe it will fail. The answer is clear. The financial future must consist of unionized currencies, based on continental divergence in order to stay strong. Major country based currencies shall become a thing of the past. This will save the world from Great Depression in the 2000's.

Obama Tells You Not To Be Cocky

Cocky is not an attitude any Obama supporter should be expressing right now. That's not just my perspective, it's Barack Obama's perspective too.

The man that many people have accused as supposedly being cocky, is now throwing the ball in everyone else's court. It's the supporters' duty to not be cocky or overconfident.

"For those of you who are feeling giddy or cocky and think this is all set, I just have two words for you: New Hampshire," said Obama.

"We've got 19 days," said Obama. "We're going to have to work absolutely as hard as we've ever worked in our lives in order to just get to the start of what is going to be a very difficult and very challenging but ultimately a very fulfilling four years where we can get this country back on track."

Democrats especially know and remember what happened in the 2000 Election when Al Gore seemingly won the Presidential election against George W. Bush. After miscommunications occurred in Florida, the premature decision within the public eye was reversed in favour of Bush.

That is a prime example of being overconfident during an election, and an example like that is definitely to the harshest degree. Democrats cannot repeat that same notion with New Hampshire, or any state for that matter, or else they'll be suffering the same fate 8 years later from the time of 2000.

It's time for a change and Barack Obama will render that change for America.

Stick to the plan, and stick to your pick Barack Hussein Obama. I cannot harp enough how everyone who invests their vote in Obama will be a greatly reimbursed with an upswing to the entire economic structure of America when it comes to energy, education, and healthcare. He can do no wrong with the propositions he's laid out upon fruition.

The voters that will be sending the biggest message on Election Day this year will be the ones who vote because America needs a drastic change, but not because they favour one party more than the other. When times are difficult, drastic measures call for drastic change and by voting outside of your norms you can make the first big change.
