Episode 7

Posted on Apr 14, 2008

It was great to see Brandi, Steven and Cameron at home reaching out to people the way they did in tonight's episode. The challenge really showed that just around the corner from where you live there are people going through their own personal hell, like overcoming illnesses or facing financial stress. This is what the show is all about—inspiring people to look twice in their own town and reach out to friends, family or the people they see on their way to work every day. There are people in need everywhere. Of course there are parts of the world where there is more poverty and more need, but even in the most secure and conservative communities there are still people who could use some help. In that sense, I feel like this particular episode conveyed the truest meaning of Big Give.

Perhaps the judges should have made a decision and eliminated someone, but this time I really couldn’t choose! They all did so well, and I thought all of the Gives were so incredible that I’d have been lying if I’d chosen anyone to go.

And, of course, the other part of the episode that was so cool was John Travolta! Can you imagine how exciting that would be? Not only are you getting to meet John Travolta, who’s fantastic (and has been a hero of mine since Grease), but he arrives in his plane, which puts him in a totally different league. To have him pick up the contestants and fly them back to Chicago was so cool. I have to admit I was a bit jealous that I wasn’t on that plane.

I can't believe that next week is the finale. The season has gone by so fast and we've seen so many wonderful things come out of it ¿ but I do think we've saved the best for last. Next week Stephen, Brandi and Cameron really step up the giving. And, they finally find out that the winner gets $1,000,000! It's going to be a brilliant show so check it out.
