It's relatively easy to see the pain bodies operating in others, but it's primarily essential that we see it in ourselves. To break your identification with the pain body, you have to catch it rising from the dormant state, when it's active. Signs of it's awakening may be irritation, impatience, moodiness, a desire to hurt, anger, rage, depression, or a need for drama in a relationship. We've all known these. This unhappiness wants to feed on pain. It is incapable of feeding on joy. The pain body is the dark shadow cast by the ego, and is totally unconscious. The truth is that it's really afraid of the light of your consciousness, your true nature. We have to start by habitually identifying with Consciousness. We have to face up to it. The good news that it is no match for the power of your presence. So stay conscious, be present! If you do this regularly as the watcher, the pain body cannot control your thinking. Remember, where there is anger, pain is underneath. Be the watcher, be conscious. ...peace, habsonfire
