I've neglected my blog lately. This is not to say that I'm no longer practicing the power of now. This is what it's all about for me. I reached an impasse in Tolle's book (PTPON). Recently I'm very involved in "Stillness Speaks", by Tolle, and opening up a dialogue with Peter Dzuiban ("Consciousness Is All") Enjoying summer, yeah! ...habs

#34...the nature of compassion...(pp.111-114)

Posted on Jun 16, 2008 8:59 PM

...at the level of Being suffering is illusion...compassion is the awareness of the deep bond between you and all creatures...stay present, in touch with Being when faced with another's unconscious behaviour...look beyond the form and feel the other's radiant Being through your own...you are the whole lake, not the turbulent surface...in touch with your depth, you are absolutely still...remember, nothing that is real ever dies, only names, forms, and illusions...your healing influence is based on being, not on doing...you emanate a felt presence everywhere you look, or go...unconsciousness is eliminated from the world as you become the "light of the world"...suffering is gone ...peace,habs

#33...practice with little things...(pp.110-111)

Posted on Jun 15, 2008 9:57 AM

...feeling yourself becoming transparent, you allow negative reactions to pass through...the wall is gone...nobody is home!...practice with little daily occurences...this is forgiveness...you now are invulnerable...the resistance mechanism stays the same no matter if you've just been insulted by a loved one, or experienced a major earthquake...forgive your own non-peace...accepting what is means every moment is your best moment...this is your calling...your spiritual warrior stance...but remember to practice first with ht e little things, and the big things won't seem as big to you when they pay their unavoidable visits...be present...fear not! ...peace, habs

#32...inner resistance...(pp.106-110)

Posted on Jun 12, 2008 5:21 AM

...inner resistance is experienced by us as negativity...this may range from irritibility and impatience to extreme anger, or a depressed mood to suicidal despair...witness road rage if you'd like a perfect example...the ego actually grows in strength from negativity, and the pain-body can be triggered by seemingly insignificant events...remember that annoying noise from the neighbour's lawnmower?...the ego appears to be blind to positivity when it has identified with negativity and it ignorantly sees this as the only way to get what it wants...this is insane!...but you know how many of us routinely operate from this premise...for help it would be best to observe nature and let it teach you about presence...if negativity does arise, just let it be a 'reminder' for you to become present, right Now...it then loses its power against the rising level of your consciousness...as negativity arises, simply wake up, be here, right Now!...get out of your mind, so-to-speak, or at least pay immediate attention to the feeling...you might also benefit by imagining yourself becoming transparent to the external cause of the reaction...let it pass right through you! ...peace, habs

...cycles of success...cycles of failure...one cannot exist without the other...in every succes lay the seeds of failure, and vice versa...all forms are impermanent...the thing is to not be identified with these forms as they are illusions...they remain illusions because they are subject to impermanence...Tolle suggests that it is important to offer no resistence to life and thus to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness...sounds wonderful!...basically it's comforting to realize that all "things" will pass...the joy of Being is the vibrant peace you find within as you enter the state of non-resistence...being at peace, feeling a deep inner core of peace, free of depending on forms, is more essential than being happy...sometimes this is tough to "get", but truth is not always so easy to understand, especially by the mind...so, just simply be the peace that you already are! ...peace, habs

What a title...what a realization! Being, being complete and whole, has no needs. But us, being male and female in this illusiory world of form, say in our most romantic ways, that 'you' complete 'me'. This turns out to be only true up to a point. And granted there appear to be many amongst us who seem on the surface to have genuine relationships, where it actually looks like 'we' complete each other. But here's the rub. Being conscious of Being, we as a species are now capable of focusing beyond the veil of form, and thus, beyond the illusion of separation. What to do? It's simple really! It makes me want to jump up and click my heels! Yahoo! Do just this, right now, right here. Accept this moment fully. Now there really is 'nobody' home. That mind-created duality is now One. There is no self to protect, or feed. When you give up your relationship with yourself, all your relationships are love relationships, just now, as it is, just so.There is no other way. There is no exit from the Now, our true Self. Gratitude is our best reply to this grace bestowed upon our form- based weary heads. And forgiveness, forgiveness for knowing not what we do, or have done, or will do, in the Eternal Now. A light comes on, and we stand as One, united in Absolute thankfulness. How could we have been so blind as not to see this truth? "I won't be fooled again!" (The Who) ...rock on! ...peace, habs

... blog #29 continued (pp.95-98)

Posted on Jun 9, 2008 11:34 PM

You and your partner will reflect back to each other the love you feel right now, from deep within you. This assumes the two of you no longer mirror unconsciousness and pain to each other. But hey, who are we kidding? This is basically how most relationships work...they don't! But this can change, if you change your perspective. It's that easy. If you have the feeling realization of your Oneness with All, you will know instinctively that Love has no opposite. So what if you do change, but your partner is not on the same page, consciously speaking, what then my friend? Forgiveness happens. It is entirely up to you to give your partner the space they need as well as your non-judgemental attitude to help them see (as they too are as sentient as you!), and feel the same love you feel inside of you, so deep inside, so strong, and true. Be kind. Be gentle. Be the best that you can consciously be. And that's pure goodness, and you know it! This is now your spiritual practice, you sadhana. Bless you for you part in it all!...and bless your partner for being such an apt teacher....you couldn't do this without them ...peace, habs

...when we realize we are not at peace, all we can do is create a space for transformation, for grace and love to enter...your knowing creates a still space surrounding your nonpeace and changes this into peace...any madness arising between you and your partner should make you glad now that you know about true salvation...just remembering the reality at hand is all it takes...in this manner the 'relationship' becomes your sadhana, your spiritual practice...just hold any unconscious behaviour displayed by your partner in the loving embrace of your knowing...don't react, if need be, respond...the energy behind hostility and attack has not a ghost of a chance against the presence of love....forget the old patterns...accept what is, as is...

In Reality love has no opposite. However, in duality, or form, love does have an opposite. This comes to us in the forms of anger, blame, hate...the list goes on. You may think you love somebody and that they complete you, but until you come to terms with your own pain you will always end up blaming the other person for your own unhappiness. In Reality, happiness comes from within.

Let's begin by saying that Love is a state of Being. Stop judging yourself first, then, stop judging your partner. Dis-identify from the pain-body, witness your thoughts as well as your actions. Know yourself as Being. Now there is no more conflict, drama, pain. Now there is love, and joy, and peace! Co-dependency begone! So now, feel the Stillness of your Presence, beyond the veil of form and it's subsequent separation. As the watcher in this present moment, all power is yours. This is true empowerment! The pain-body loses it's phony strength to destroy that precious love within you. But how can you lose that which you already are? Love, and Consciousness are the same! peace, habs ...ps...you are free to share your love with your partner, now that you know where it comes from...this has to be an improvement from those tired sensory based relationships...now you are multi-sensory...let the light of your love shine forth as it is meant to shine!

#27...(pp.80-85)...the light of Consciousness...

Posted on Jun 7, 2008 7:09 AM

You see the power of now by becoming aware of both the emotional pain-body and of the silent watcher inside of you. How?...by enlisting your own conscious presence!...As you maintain your attention on the pain-body and the thoughts engendered, this pain becomes fuel for the flame of consciousness, thus changing suffering into consciousness. This is a wonderful transformational tool. Always remember, if you identify with the pain, there is no freedom. Some are so attached to this trapped pain, trapped in inner space, that it takes great vigilence to actually become detached from it...look at this pain as a gift...this sounds maybe strange to some, but it's what we have to work with here in Earth School...being conscious of it is our only hope in overcoming this victim identity...know that the past has no strength against the power of now and that you and you alone are responsible for your own inner space...and the thing is, just watching, as the watcher, is enough...you can't really succeed if you fight the pain-body...just accept it as it is at this moment...in this way you are able to confront it and are now able to dissolve it through transmutation....when exposed to the Light, things (forms), become Light...this is freedom...it all comes down to Being Reality ourselves...it is a mystery just why we seek to gain Reality, when that is who we really are! (see Ramana Maharshi)... peace, habs

#26...breaking identification with the pain-body

Posted on Jun 6, 2008 6:11 PM

It's relatively easy to see the pain bodies operating in others, but it's primarily essential that we see it in ourselves. To break your identification with the pain body, you have to catch it rising from the dormant state, when it's active. Signs of it's awakening may be irritation, impatience, moodiness, a desire to hurt, anger, rage, depression, or a need for drama in a relationship. We've all known these. This unhappiness wants to feed on pain. It is incapable of feeding on joy. The pain body is the dark shadow cast by the ego, and is totally unconscious. The truth is that it's really afraid of the light of your consciousness, your true nature. We have to start by habitually identifying with Consciousness. We have to face up to it. The good news that it is no match for the power of your presence. So stay conscious, be present! If you do this regularly as the watcher, the pain body cannot control your thinking. Remember, where there is anger, pain is underneath. Be the watcher, be conscious. ...peace, habsonfire

For some reason I'm reluctant to say very much about the pain body. However, here goes...as long as we identify with the mind, pain, of the emotional variety, is what we're going to get. In fact, humankind has, it seems forever, had this morbid unconscious fascination with this negative energy field entity. There are two distinct levels to our pain... those that we have collected from the past, and those that we keep creating right now. The rather sad truth is that they continue to live in our minds and bodies at this very moment. Gary Renard ("The Disappearance of the Universe"-ACIM) says that we are all one body, known for a lack of a better word, as the Sonship, but let's not go there right now. And the other sad truth is that all of us have this same affliction! If we didn't, we wouldn't even be here in form! So what is there to do? It all comes around to being able to access the power of Now. See ya'll in blog #26! ...peace, habs

#24...using you mind creatively...(pp68-69)

Posted on Jun 3, 2008 1:05 PM

To some extent we already are using our minds creatively, but really not near as much as is possible...take a look and see for yourself...whether you write, or paint, shoot photos, basketweave, this is for you!...being aware of the Stillness, focus on your inner body...Eckhart does this when he sits down to write...and he writes in longhand (no computer jockey is he!)...whatever, look at what he produces...here's the thing though folks...you, yes you, are potentially capable of becoming more creative too...and who wouldn't want to be actually more creative...your guess...when you are anchored in Stillness, thinking becomes fresher than before....make sure to think with your whole body, not just your head...you go back and forth between thoughts and inner listening...breathing is you friend, remember, breathe consciously...just focus...yes, that's it!...if you feel you must, visualize yourself immersed in a sea of consciousness, luminous...breathe in that light...feel it....switch your focus to your feeling from the visual light you imagined...focus now, this moment...this is accessing the power on the Now...this, is where it's at, right here and Now!...write on...peace, habsonfire

#23...get the boost you need! (pp.66-68)

Posted on Jun 2, 2008 5:26 PM

....this self-healing meditation works well when your immune system needs a boost...just lay on your back and simply flood your body with consciousness...visualize light if you must...eyes closed preferably...now let your attention run through your body in waves, and then feel the inner body as one field of energy...hold this for as long as you deem necessary, but at least for a few minutes...yes, thoughts come and go, like clouds...just keep returning your attention within, conscious breathing also helps...wow!...what a relaxing way to give yourself a boost...do you need a boost?...well here it is! peace, habsonfire

#22...the roots within...(pp.64-66)

Posted on Jun 2, 2008 5:52 AM

...when you maintain the state of permanent connectedness with your inner body, life is deeply transformed...in fact, the more that consciousness is directed inward, the higher it's 'vibrational frequency' becomes...this has to be good for you as now negativity has markedly less an affect and you actually may attract more positive circumstances into your daily life...now thoughts and emotions, fears and desires won't take you over...always attempt to keep at least some of your attention directed within...feel your inner body as a single field of energy...practice continuously being 'rooted' within and you will be able to focus on your external 'doings' with greater awareness and presence...test it out! ...peace, habsonfire

Connecting!...blog #21 (pp.61-64)

Posted on Jun 1, 2008 8:34 AM

This has to be my favourite part of the book... NOW! ...close your eyes for this...okay, ready, set, ...go deeply into your body...relax, breathe conscious breaths, become aware of your entire energy field...All is Beingness...no boundaries...going more deeply, now you have transcended...inner and outer distinctions dissolve...stay here in this realm for as long as it's comfortable...All is One...now become aware of your physicality, open your eyes...but also continue to feel your inner body...you have gone deeply into Being, the realm of deep Stillness and Peace, of joy and 'intense' aliveness...when present, you are transparent to the light of pure consciousness, emanating from the Source...there is no separation in this state and you realize your very essence...This ESSENCE is PRESENCE!!! ...this is you! ...just remember to keep this portal open as you go about your daily activities...always come back to this instant when you stray into form...this is maintaining your freedom from form...realize this.... you are a 'bridge' between the manifested and the unmanifested...this is the state of connectedness with the Source that is called enlightenment...are we enlightened yet?...are we there yet?...here yet?...for most of us the response is still 'no', but, we're workin' on it...keep on keepin' on!!!...can you think of something better to do? (smile) ...peace, habs

#20 (pp.58-60)...realizing pure consciousness...

Posted on Jun 1, 2008 7:06 AM

When you watch the mind, you withdraw consciousness from mind forms. Thus, the watcher, as pure consciousness, grows stronger and mental formations weaken. Be deeply rooted within...inhabit your body fully...attention to the inner energy field keeps you anchored in the Now...you are beyond the outer form...reclaim consciousness from the mind...take the focus of attention away from thinking and direct it to the body where Being is felt as the invisible energy field that gives life to what you perceive as the physical body...this is a feeling realization. peace, habs
