Bomboozled
Gimme Shelter
It's not funny...but it is. In Bomboozled (Pointed Leaf), author Susan Roy pairs illustrations with incisive commentary to reveal just how deluded we used to be about prepping for the all-too-thinkable nuclear attack. Advertisements featured women in dresses and heels happily waiting out Armageddon with their families in fallout shelters. Or, as the spin doctors of the time put it: "in the family room of tomorrow."
