Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone who always shows up.

Thank you Andre Walker. 27 years straight you showed up. Always on time, ready and more than willing to do my hair. You're such a good guy in every way. Thanks for always being available for me.

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone you recently met.

I'd like to thank Jenna Hall, Mastin Kipp's girlfriend, whom I met just a week ago for lunch. I could feel your whole heart in your smile, your love of God and life and all things spiritual. Thank you for being such a joyful representation of Spirit in a body.

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank your mom, or someone who has been like a mom to you.

Thank you to my mother, Vernita Lee, for doing the best she knew and could do in raising me. Thank you to Maya Angelou who has stood in the gap, as a mother, sister, and friend. Thank you to Gayle King. I've never seen or heard of a better mother than she--such RESPECT and of course love she has for her children. She has treated me the same; 100% always in my corner cheering me on!

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone who probably thinks you've forgotten all about them.

I'd like to thank my best friend in the 3rd grade, Hermine Harris, and my best friend in 7th and 8th grade, Joyce Williams.  Sending good vibes your way after all these years.

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone who showed you kindness.

Years ago I was on trial in Amarillo Texas accused, and later acquitted, of saying disparaging words about a burger. It was a very stressful time. We had to move our whole show to Texas, tape at night, and appear in the courtroom all day for SIX weeks. The courtroom, for me, was an intimidating and hostile environment. In Dr. Phil's words those beef guys "want your hide on a platter".

One morning, as I approached the courthouse a small, round, red headed woman reached across the yellow barricade and pushed a worn matchbook into my hand. Inside she had written: "Keep strong, I'm praying for you".

That single act of kindness brought tears to my eyes at the time and remains one of the sweetest moments of my life.

She didn't sign her name. I did not see her again, though I scanned the fence line every morning. In my mind, I named her Dalia.  That little note was like a dalia blossoming in my heart.

That was 14 years ago.
You never forget true kindness.

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone who taught you something.

There are very few life experiences that don't hold a teachable moment. If you care to look beneath the surface of appearances, you'll most likely find an "aha" or two. The greatest learning for me usually happens in times of distress, pain, suffering. So I would like to thank the people who've brought me those dark moments, when I felt most wounded, or betrayed. You have been my greatest teachers. Thank you.

Maya Angelou many years ago shared this profound  wisdom: "When people show you who they are believe them; the first time."

Now, I do.

Today's Thank You Game challenge is to thank someone who nourishes your body or spirit.

I'm back with Bob Greene for workouts, so he gets another shout out for helping me nourish my body with his daily truth serum of exercise.

Thank you to the "Foot Nanny" Gloria Williams who takes such good care of my feet, makes my whole body feel better.

Thank you to Donna Richardson Joyner for her gracious outreach to my girls in South Africa and to me. She nourishes my spirit with a constant supply of POTTER's HOUSE dvd's.  And of course to the masterful Bishop T.D. Jakes (who's in the photo above) who can take the WORD and build a story that makes your spirit shout Amen!
