I saw tons of styles with tiny faces at the Basel watch fair this year. They're a delicate alternative to the oversize boyfriend watch, and perfect for layering with bracelets. From top: Miami Beach by Glam Rock, $195, nordstrom.com. Burberry, $750, burberry.com. Hermès, $2,150, hermes.com for stores. DKNY, $195, macys.com. Coach, $398, coach.com for stores. Citizen Watch Company of America, $325, amazon.com.
This is the bag shape of the season. I especially love these neutral colors, which work with everything—think of them as the purse equivalent of a nude heel. Clockwise starting from top: Deux Lux, $170, deuxlux.com. Michael Michael Kors, $398, 866-709-5677 for stores. Valeria Smith, $640, valeriasmithnyc.com.
Whether your legs are long, short, or somewhere in between, these classic pumps by Rachel Roy will make them look leaner. The 4.5-inch heels may seem high, but the .75-inch hidden platform ensures you get a lot of comfort at that altitude. The best part? The wide range of colors makes it easy to find the right pair. Rachel Roy, $225 to $250 each, nordstrom.com
I've made no secret of my love for the anorak: It's an ideal blend of practical and fashionable—and the drawstring belt makes every waist look smaller. If you've been on the fence about anoraks, now is the time to try one. This cheery version from Old Navy features a detachable inner vest (making it a great fall-to-winter jacket) and a soft, suede-like feel. The best part? It's only $50. Adam Glassman, O magazine's Creative Director, has made a new discovery: I’ve had to buy my share of baby’s gifts over the years, and just because a present is meant for a little one doesn’t make it any easier to find the perfect thing. Which is why I’m crazy about Burt’s Bees Baby, a new line of organic apparel and earth-friendly products. The clothing—in tasteful shades of muted grays, pinks and creams—is absolutely adorable, and is sure to please style (and environmentally) conscious parents. And while 100% organic clothes are usually quite expensive, these pieces are super affordable: a 3-piece newborn set (bodysuit, bib and hat) is $9.99; a baby knit terry coverall is $14; a 7-piece gift basket (which includes clothing, shampoo and lotion) is $39.99. The line, available now at Target.com, will eventually expand to include home and lifestyle products, but in the meantime I’ve found my new go-to baby gift.
Tip 2: Find nearby sales using apps like Zoomingo, which covers major retailers as well as smaller boutiques. Tip 3: Try membership-only sites like peppermintpark.com for designer finds without the time limits of flash sites.
Problem: Your favorite pants wear out and you can't find a good replacement. Solution: Not Your Daughter's Jeans now offers a trouser line with its signature attention to quality and fit. The pants lengthen your legs with a streamlined cut, have a bit of stretch for comfort, and come in a high enough rise that you don't have to worry about muffin top or panty peeks.($120 each, nydj.com) Keep Reading 7 things not to wear to the office and what to wear instead 3 ways to wear spring's must-have jacket Ask Adam: Can I wear lace to work?
A: Ladies, when it comes to dressing for a romantic evening, there is a fine line between seductive and seedy. But you'll never go wrong if you follow my guiding principle: Play up one feature, be it the lips, the décolletage, or the legs; keep everything else demure. For a seductive look, try: tousled hair; matte red lips; an animal-print scarf; an off-the-shoulder top; short well-manicured nails; a bustier underneath a blazer; a peek of lace; a dress with a slit; a pencil skirt; tights with a small fishnet pattern; and a classic pump, two to four inches tall. To avoid looking seedy, steer clear of: teased, sprayed untouchable hair; glossy red lips; animal-print pants; a tube top; long red talons; a bustier worn alone; a neon lace dress; a dress with a slit and plunging neckline; an ultra-miniskirt; actual fishnets; and clear platforms heels.
