xxoo Jenny

May 1st-

·      I want to try giving up sugar like you Jenny. I get the obvious, candy, cookies, etc. but, it is Friday and I usually have a glass of wine with dinner? Yes? No? (dante29)

JENNY SAYS:  I think a glass of wine is fine. Red wine especially. I think too much of anything can be bad so drink minimally. I’m allergic to red and white. How sad. LOL

·      Ok... so here's the thing... if I don't eat sugar, I won't be eating anything at all. How will my system even know what to do? I'm going to give it a try with you Jenny!! (veastwood)

JENNY SAYS: I don’t believe you wont have anything to eat. This will force you to try other options. I’m happy to hear you’re going to try.

·      Does anyone have a particular food program to eliminate sugar? Jenny, what in particular are you following? Will you share? (cupscakes)

JENNY SAYS: I did not follow a program. I just looked for alternatives for healthy sweeteners such as agave and stevia. They were amazing!

May 2nd-

·      Are you going hard core and giving up all sugar ie, anything that has sugar in it like yogurt, juice or just sweets/ice cream/cookies? (cagey12)

JENNY SAYS: I gave everything that had sugar in it. I only ate fruit juice sweetened things or stevia. It was amazing to find cookies, cakes and cupcakes made without sugar. All you need to do is look.

·      Can I commit to reducing sugar intake and negative "chitchat" or must I go cold turkey? I fear failure, even if only 30 days! (seraph10)

JENNY SAYS: If you fear failure try it for a week. You know yourself better than anyone. Cold turkey is tough for a lot of people.

·      Can't vidyaah still have honey in her tea? Refined sugars? Natural sugars? (roni1963)

JENNY SAYS:  It’s up to you if you want to use sugar. My doc says the bees already break it down for you so it’s so much better than sugar. I’m allergic to honey so it wasn’t an option for me.

·      Jenny how can you watch Jim drink soda when you can't have regular ketchup!?!?! I need to get some of that sugar free ketchup - THANKS! (l.ormandy)

JENNY SAYS: Watching your partner eat sugar while you don’t is only hard during PMS. He was respectful and didn’t do it in front of me during this time.

May 3rd-

·      Jenny--are your sugar cravings the very stongest immediately after you've eaten something sweet? Help! >^..^< (forestpal)

JENNY SAYS:  My cravings for sugar are strongest after I have a salty meal.

May 4th-

·      This question is totally lame, but if I give up sugar for a whole month, can I still drink Diet Coke? (sgandhi71)

JENNY SAYS:  LOL Is there sugar in there? I don’t know. If there is aspartame I would rather have you eat sugar. Look up the effects of aspartame.

·      It's amazing you are trying to go no sugar. I don't think I can go completely no-sugar but will try to reduce it considerably. What was your take on "Sugar Blues"? (glammin350)

JENNY SAYS:  Sugar blues was fascinating. I had no idea of the corruption behind the sugar market and the knowledge of the negative effects has been known for a century.

·      What about xylitol? Are you eating natural sugar? (ramommie)

JENNY SAYS: Love xylitol until somebody tells me otherwise.

May 5th-

·      Jenny, My twin boys have PDD. I contacted a Rescue Angel she has been helpful.DAN doctors are so expensive do you know any that are in the NYC are that are not that exspensive.? (pikina2006)

JENNY SAYS: Generation Rescue just launched a program to help fund treatment for families who cant afford it. Please go there and see if you are eligible.

·      Jenny,What yoga routine do you do?Is it helping you through your sugar carvings? FYI... my niece Grace enjoyed working your Autism workshop in Chicago last year! She loves you! (anneriley5)

JENNY SAYS: Right now I do Bikhram yoga. I’m sure ill get sick of it someday but right now I love it!

JENNY SAYS: I made fruit acceptable. Its up to you.

·      Jenny, do you mind sharing your gluten free cupcake recipe? My son also cannot eat gluten (or nuts & eggs) and I haven't found a cake recipe that tastes good yet. (javabear)

JENNY SAYS: Check out babycakes.com

·      How in the hell do you know where & how to start giving up sugar? How do you educate yourself on what has and does not have sugar? (vgtaylor50)

JENNY SAYS: Just look at labels. If it says evaporated cane juice or high fructose corn syrup those are sugars! Then look at alternatives like stevia and fruit juice sweetened stuff.

May 6th-

·      Jenny, how did you go about removing "the devil" from your diet? I need help removing HFCSyrup from my diet first. (dklochiatt)

JENNY SAYS: That can be the hardest one to kick. It’s addictive but I highly recommend looking at some research on Google about it. That will help you kick it.

·      Jenny, Just saw a new dr. yesterday and discovered I am gluten and dairy intolerant. Going gluten-dairy free for 30 days to see how if works for me. Any tips would be helpful. (glb814)

JENNY SAYS: Stick to meat and veggies and it will be easy to stay away from gluten and dairy.

·      Jenny WHERE ARE YOU ON TWITTER??? (jhfrye)

JENNY SAYS:  JennyfromMTV

is it just white sugar,or sugar as a main ingredient that I should give up? If sugar is listed on the ingredients but its the 3rd/4th thing added does that mean I shouldn't eat it (mferris29)

May 9th-

·      Starting over again today. Jenny do you ever have a bad day w/Evan? You seem to always be so sweet. I love my son too but some days are hard. (littled518)

·      So excited to hear you are going to answer questions at the end of the blog. Will you continue after 30 days? I have a 3 year- old any good GF, DF, CF snacks you would suggest? I have to get away from the Goldfish! (cgamette)

JENNY SAYS:  LOL   I remember the goldfish days. TACAnow.org has great kids GFCF recipies. Also nanas cookies are awesome. The GF/CF ones are awesome and have no sugar. In the meantime, give digestive enzymes to help break down goldfish. Kartnerhealth.com has great enzymes.

May 25th-

May 26th-

·      Question for Jenny--any good GF recipes, cookbooks, products, and box-mixes? (forestpal)

JENNY SAYS: Namaste has awesome mixes and there are great recipes at TACAnow.org     I also tell people cook like they did back in the day. Meat and veggies with some salt and you will be safe.

·      Jenny, My question is this. What is the BEST advice anyone has ever given you and why? (aschruhl)

JENNY SAYS: Best advice was when I was crying to my mom about Evan not even noticing me or caring about my love when he was autistic. She said to me, “Jenny, everything responds to love.”

May 27th-

·      Recently, I've had so many pity parties for myself. What do you do to get yourself out of those kind of low/sad moods? What suggestions do you have for building self-confidence? (texskye28)

JENNY SAYS: On those days, I allow myself to cry. I host a pity party for myself and eat something crunchy. LOL Like chips. If you allow the feelings to come up they can go away a lot easier. It’s when we try to repress them is where you can get yourself into trouble.

Hi Jenny, What changes have you noticed since you completed the 30 days? Also, do you exercise? Thanks for inspiring me to be healthier.

hollmark88

JENNY SAYS:  My skin is better and my immune system seems to be stronger. I used to get cold sores every month except this month.

Jenny: I admire your determination and willpower! What's your secret to staying motivated? Thanks

(Lcs 1982)

JENNY SAYS: My motivation is my son. I want to lead by example. I don’t want him to eat garbage so I shouldn’t eat garbage.
