The World Food Program
The World Food Program (WFP) is the largest international food aid organization in the world and the United Nations' frontline agency in the fight against hunger. Every year, WFP feeds an average of 90 million people, some two-thirds of them children, in more than 80 of the world's poorest countries.

In Darfur, WFP is the largest humanitarian organization on the ground—delivering food to about 2.7 million people a month in some of the most remote and difficult areas. WFP is committed to meeting the massive food aid needs of Darfur, but it faces serious challenges from escalating insecurity, logistical hurdles and tight resources.

International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has worked in Sudan since 1982 and in the western region of Darfur since 2004, shortly after the war broke out. It serves at least 740,000 people across Darfur, most of whom have been driven from their homes by fighting, and forced into crowded camps.

Services include everything from providing water and sanitation to offering counseling and medical care throughout this vast, remote region. Much of the focus is on women and children.
