Dr. Oz talks to football great Jerry Kramer about his career and lasting legacy. Jerry is best remembered for his 11-year career with the Green Bay Packers as an offensive lineman. As a 6'3", 250-pound right guard, Jerry helped lead the team to win five NFL titles and the first two Super Bowls. Jerry also served as the team's field goal kicker at various times during his career, scoring many of the game-winning points that led the Packers to victory. He has also authored four books, including the best-seller Instant Replay and his most recent title, Jerry Kramer's Inside the Locker Room: The Lost Tapes of His 1967 Championship.
During his career, Jerry sustained many injuries, including a surgery to remove wood fragments embedded in his body from an accident he had as a teenager, as well as a colostomy that left him severely weakened and underweight. Still, Jerry persevered, and credits his coaches and teammates for instilling in him the discipline and strong work ethic that he needed to overcome his medical challenges. He says imparting these same values on today's youth is important for their success, whether it's on or off the field. "You become successful by working on it, by preparing properly and ultimately, by believing in yourself—in your talent, your ability and your team," Jerry says.
