She's the founder, president and CEO of Count Me In, a not-for-profit provider of business loans and resources for women to grow their small businesses into million dollar enterprises. Jean talks with Nell about her advice for women who are looking to start a business or take their small business to the next level.

Advice for Budding Women Entrepreneurs:
  • Know your vision. From finding your passion to figuring out if your ideas can actually make money, Nell says budding entrepreneurs should clarify exactly what they hope to create with their company.
  • Consider applying for a microloan from a nontraditional lender. Count Me In, for example, offers access to financing anywhere from $500 to $10,000, which Nell says can make a huge difference for small companies looking to grow.
  • Get professional mentoring and coaching. Expert advice on key business issues can be an important tool and an invaluable resource for expanding your business, Nell says.
