What do Barbra Streisand, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Jamie Foxx all have in common?

They have each had an Oscar® and a number one record at the same time! Gayle talks to Jamie—the triple-threat actor, comedian and singer—about Oscar buzz, his music and handling stardom.

Jamie recently starred in one of Gayle's all-time favorite movies, Dreamgirls, along with costars Eddie Murphy, Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Hudson. The film received eight Oscar nominations, but Gayle says she was shocked and dismayed that it didn't receive nominations for Best Picture or Best Director.

Jamie says he and producer Bill Condon are handling the news much better—they're focusing on everything the film did accomplish and are rooting for nominees Jennifer and Eddie. "You don't set out to do the movie for the award," he says. "You set out to do the best movie that you can do."

With his hit album Unpredictable up for three Grammy® nominations, Jamie's music career is also on fire. He credits a collaboration with producer Kanye West called "Slow Jamz" with helping him kick-start his foray into music. "That's how I got a chance to get back into the music in a credible way and in a young way," Jamie says.

Jamie says he loves being on tour because his show gives him the chance to perform both stand-up comedy and music. Additionally, the smooth-talking Jamie says one portion of the show is dedicated exclusively to the women in the audience. He says it's a throwback to the days when artists like Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross embodied love and romance—something Jamie says is missing from most hip-hop music today. "It's nostalgia and it's letting women in," Jamie explains. "I said, 'Fellas, you can stick around if you want to…but this is for the ladies.'"

Despite his enormous success and fame, Jamie says he doesn't let it go to his head. He says he concentrates on savoring every moment, whether it's being on tour, going to the Golden Globe® awards show or appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show. "It's moments that you can never get again in your life, so that's why I don't want to get the 'fame face' and forget what it's all about," he says.
