No matter what side of a relationship you are on, breaking up is always hard to do. Feelings of loneliness, confusion and change can often make you feel as though your life is falling apart. In these times of pain, Dr. Robin says it's important not to spiral into depression.
Have you found yourself following destructive behaviors, such as overeating, sleeping or drinking alcohol, when things don't work out? Or maybe you just stop taking good care of yourself, stop doing things you love and generally check out.
It's breaking up from the comfortable habits that tear us down and make us feel as though our lives somehow aren't worth it, Dr. Robin says. "Decide that you are worth every effort of value and worthiness simply because you are here," she says. "Figure out what you can do that brings life, heath and vitality back in to your being because that is what you deserve."
