In October 2006, Julie's Family Learning Program, located in South Boston, Massachusetts, received a $10,000 Oprah's Angel Network grant in conjunction with O, The Oprah Magazine's "O You!" event.

Julie's Family offers programs that build strong, healthy families. Its services enable mothers and their children to become healthy, responsible, successful and economically self-sufficient members of their communities.

Julie's Family model of family support strengthens the bonds between family members and helps both parents and children break the cycle of poverty. Adults can join a basic needs group or a personal and family goals group. There are also programs on adult basic education, life skills education, workplace readiness skills, employment and career counseling, and more. And while mothers work on personal goals, their children are also receiving services. These include infant and toddler childhood development centers, a Montessori pre-school, tutoring and more.
